Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, CA. This role is responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for milling and machining operations to produce precision components that meet customer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing technical drawings and models, selecting tooling and machining strategies, setting up and proving out programs on the shop floor, and collaborating with machinists to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. The CNC Programmer will troubleshoot machining issues, adjust feeds, speeds, and tool paths, and document process improvements to support repeatable and scalable manufacturing. The role also involves working closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and delivery timelines.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in CNC Programming and Programming for milling and machining operations.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Machining and Milling, including setup, tooling selection, and process optimization.
  • Candidates should possess skills in interpreting Technical Drawing, engineering prints, and CAD/CAM models.
  • Experience with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, or similar) and CAD/CAM software is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant technical education or apprenticeship in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-precision industries is advantageous.
