Plasma Burn Table Operator

Established in 1987, Triad Metals International is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier distributors of structural steel, tubing, piling, and plate products. We are looking to hire this Operator to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia!

Position Summary

The Plasma Burn Table Operator will operate CNC machines to cut and shape carbon steel plates accurately. The role demands a keen understanding of blueprints and technical specifications to ensure quality production processes.

Multiple positions are currently available on this shift

Main Responsibilities

  • Production Activities: Operate various machines for precision part manufacturing.
  • Blueprint Review: Analyze blueprints and specifications to comprehend machining requirements.
  • Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials based on work orders.
  • Processing Specifications: Determine necessary specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and surface conditions.
  • Machine Setup: Align and secure tools and materials on machines.
  • Operational Sequences: Monitor machine speeds and feeds, and sequence operations.
  • Part Creation: Produce complex shapes according to established drawings while preventing distortion.
  • Quality Checks: Measure and inspect pieces using precision instruments to ensure compliance.
  • Quality Control Inspections: Conduct inspections throughout production for ISO standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain equipment as per procedures.
  • Problem-Solving: Diagnose issues, make adjustments, and manage scrap.
  • Material Handling: Coordinate handling and document work orders.

Skills & Qualifications
