Job Summary
BICO Steel is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Burn Table Operator to operate CNC-controlled plasma and/or oxy-fuel cutting tables. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting steel plates to precise specifications, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC burn tables (plasma and/or oxy-fuel) to cut steel materials according to blueprints and work orders
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications accurately
  • Set up cutting programs, adjust machine settings, and monitor cutting processes
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on burn table equipment
  • Load and unload steel plates using overhead cranes or forklifts (as required)
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and efficiency goals
  • Track and report material usage, scrap, and job completion data
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience operating CNC plasma or oxy-fuel burn tables in a steel or fabrication environment
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand measurements, tolerances, and material requirements
