JWC Steel Co., a leading structural and miscellaneous metals contractor, is seeking a Senior Structural Steel Estimator to join our sales and client relations team. This full-time position is based in Connecticut and offers a hybrid work model for a self-motivated, results-driven professional with extensive experience in takeoffs and bid development for commercial and industrial steel projects. is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping us secure high-impact projects through precise and competitive estimating.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review bid invitations from general contractors and identify project scope

  • Perform material and labor take-offs from structural and architectural drawings

  • Develop and submit bid proposals accurately and on time

  • Track and prepare change orders as needed throughout the project lifecycle

  • Maintain close communication with general contractors and internal departments

  • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings when required

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in steel estimating and takeoffs (structural and miscellaneous metals)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and structural plans

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be dependable, resourceful, and highly motivated
