How much do cna med tech jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 27, 2026, the average hourly pay for cna med tech in Raleigh, NC is $19.50, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.87 and $21.97 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the highest paying job as a CNA?

The highest paying roles for CNAs typically involve specialized settings such as long-term care facilities, home health care, or working in regions with higher cost of living. Advanced certifications or additional training in areas like phlebotomy or EKG can also lead to higher wages within the CNA field.

Can a CNA make $1000 a week?

A CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) typically earns between $10 and $20 per hour, so making $1000 a week would require working approximately 50 to 100 hours, which is above standard full-time hours. Overtime, shift differentials, or working in high-demand facilities can increase earnings, but consistently earning $1000 weekly is uncommon for most CNAs without additional certifications or roles.

What are CNA Med Techs?

CNA Med Techs, or Certified Nursing Assistant Medication Technicians, are healthcare professionals who combine the duties of a CNA with the responsibility of administering medications to patients under the supervision of a nurse. They assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, while also ensuring that patients receive their prescribed medications safely and accurately. CNA Med Techs typically work in long-term care facilities, assisted living centers, and hospitals, playing a crucial role in patient care and medication management.

Can you be a med tech with a CNA?

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) can work alongside a Medical Technician (Med Tech), but being a CNA does not automatically qualify someone to perform all Med Tech duties. Med Techs typically require specific certification or licensure related to medication administration and clinical procedures, which are beyond CNA scope. CNA experience can be beneficial for understanding patient care but does not replace Med Tech qualifications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CNA Med Tech, and why are they important?

To thrive as a CNA Med Tech, you need a certified nursing assistant (CNA) credential, a medication technician certification, and a solid understanding of basic patient care and medication administration. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), medication dispensing systems, and vital sign monitoring equipment is typically required. Strong attention to detail, empathy, and effective communication are crucial soft skills in this role. These skills and qualifications are essential for ensuring patient safety, accurate medication delivery, and effective teamwork in healthcare environments.

Is Med Tech better than CNA?

A Medical Technician (Med Tech) typically has more advanced training and performs more complex clinical tasks than a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). CNAs focus on basic patient care and assistance with daily activities, while Med Techs often handle medication administration and monitoring, requiring additional certification. The roles differ in responsibilities, scope, and required qualifications, making them suited for different career paths within healthcare settings.

How does a CNA Med Tech balance medication administration with direct patient care duties?

CNA Med Techs often juggle the responsibilities of both certified nursing assistants and medication technicians. This means they must efficiently manage their time to ensure timely medication administration while also addressing patients’ daily needs such as bathing, feeding, and mobility assistance. Strong organizational skills and teamwork are essential, as Med Techs typically coordinate with nurses and other CNAs to prioritize tasks and ensure compliance with medication protocols. This dual role offers a dynamic work environment and valuable experience for those interested in advancing within healthcare.
