Job Summary:

The General Laborer/Finisher is generally responsible for assisting with the preparation, pouring, and finishing of concrete for various construction projects. This work includes the removal of existing structures, Concrete repairs, and replacement trench assembly. This work physical activity, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying possibly heavy objects. Duties will require concentration and attention to detail for long periods of time. This position will include indoor and outdoor work environments and is fast paced. Candidate must be able to communicate well with others and proactively contribute to group objectives.


Duties:


  • Setting up and dismantling concrete forms, mixing and pouring concrete.

  • Smoothing and leveling surfaces
  • Using hand power tools to finish concrete.

  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
  • Moving materials
  • Assisting with other concrete related activities as needed
  • Follow all safety protocols and work in a team environment to ensure the successful completion of projects.


Required Qualifications:


  • Must be in good physical condition as the job involves lifting heavy materials, bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.

  • Previous experience in construction or concrete work,
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment. Familiarity with hand and power tools such as trowels, screeds, and concrete saws.

  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on a variety of task related to concrete work.

  • Possess working knowledge of the precautions necessary to work safely with and around heavy equipment and public works equipment.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

  • Maintain all safety equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety vests, goggles, steel toe boots, etc.).

  • Must be able to wear steel-toed boots.


Experience:

  • Must have 1-3 years of construction or concrete work experience.
  • Some carpentry experience required.


Education:

  • High-school diploma or GED equivalent required.


Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
  • Successfully completed pre-employment background check.
  • Perform manual labor for extended shifts and possible weekends.
