Job description:

Snelling is now hiring part-time cafeteria workers in Charlotte. Must be able to work 5 hours a day, be flexible on the start time and must be able to pass CMS hiring criteria, pass a background check and MUST have reliable transportation. Job Duties.

  • Prepare a variety of menu items for breakfast, lunch, supper and/or after school snack in large quantities following the standardized recipes and within established time constraints including entrees, vegetables, fruits, rolls, cookies, etc. for service.
  • Properly record all information on daily production records & cool down the log.
  • Serve food in portions to students to meet mandated nutritional requirements.
  • Set up hot & cold food items on serving counters and lines & arrange food and beverage items for the purpose of serving them to students and staff in an efficient manner.
  • Set up serving lines with trays, plates, utensils, condiments, straws, milk, etc. for service.
  • Monitor & record all food & equipment to insure proper temperatures are being maintained.
  • Maintain assigned work areas and serving counters in a clean, neat, orderly and in sanitary condition.
  • Operate and clean a variety of food service equipment and machines including warmers, stoves, ovens, slicers, steamers and mixers, serving counters, salad & fruit counters, milk cooler and cashier areas.
  • Scrub, sanitize, air dry then store pots and pans, utensils, trays and dishes.
  • Clean all work areas in the kitchen and cafeteria facilities. This includes sweeping & mopping, cleaning kitchen bathroom and disposing of kitchen garbage.
  • Receive and store food, supplies & condiments to maintain adequate quantities and food safety.
  • Assists other cafeteria workers as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
  • Performs other duties similar to the above & any other duties as assigned by the Manager/Assistant Manager

Note: Part of the job will involve the reading and understanding of recipes. Employees should have the ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic at a level necessary for successful job performance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This job requires lifting up to 30 pounds, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching; and significant fine finger dexterity.
  • There may be long periods of standing.
  • Work is performed under some temperature extremes, with exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Noise level in the work environment can be loud.

We have open interviews Monday through Wednesday 9:00 AM to 11 AM. 2 valid forms of ID are required for I9 and Everify!
