The Director of Physician Services provides support to hospital facilities, operations management related to physicians across multiple specialties, who practice in hospital and outpatient settings. This leader will have strategic, ongoing communications and interactions with the designated practices and hospitals in the North Florida Division from both a strategic and tactical standpoint. Building effective partnerships with hospital and operations team members is integral to success in this role.

The DPS responsibilities include oversight of the operations, budget, and general management of the assigned practices and clinics. This position also involves developing educational planning programs and partnering with Graduate Medical Education (GME).

What you will do in this role:

  • You will demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to delivering exceptional care to create an unmatched value proposition for our patients
  • You will identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, removes barriers and resistance, and enable desirable behavior
  • You will collaborate effectively with Division service line leaders and hospital business development leaders
  • You will proactively identify practice/business development opportunities to increase market share
  • You will direct and manage strategic projects for areas such as patient flow, patient satisfaction, practice volume, billing and collections, service utilization, coding, physician and staff training
  • You will have strategic and tactical operational responsibility for the business and clinical functions through administrative and clinical staff including providers, front desk, medical records, nursing, and ancillary services to ensure maximum utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services of his or her assigned practices. These responsibilities include Human Resources responsibilities.
  • You will develop, implement and monitor practice budgets including analyzing financial impact of changes and forecasts, and expenditures. Recommends corrective action as required
  • You will have supervisory responsibility for physicians and practice staff as well as meet regularly with constituents including but not limited to operations leadership, physicians and hospital administration to review practice strategy, market and division goals, financial performance and practice key indicators
  • You will oversee physician recruiting and contracting in collaboration with other Physician Services colleagues
  • You will work with physicians and division leadership to provide innovative practice growth and quality solutions that will maintain and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • You will promote consistent patient interactions that advance the agenda of increased patient satisfaction
  • You will perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, and Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred. Degree in health or business administration is also preferred.
  • CMPE completion is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three plus years of leadership experience in practice management of multiple locations.
  • Five plus years of relevant clinical operations experience.
  • Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, operations, and strategy, specifically medical practice accounting, third party reimbursement issues, patient flow and facilities management.
