Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a talented CMDB Platform Engineer for a contract opportunity in Raleigh, NC. The role involves building and maintaining platform-native capabilities for reliable service and configuration data, improving data quality and service visibility at an enterprise scale.
Responsibilities:
• The CMDB Platform Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining platform-native capabilities that make service and configuration data reliable, enforceable, and operationally useful.
• This role translates Service-Aware Operating Model requirements into scalable workflows, controls, and platform logic that improve data quality, lifecycle discipline, and service visibility at enterprise scale.
• The CMDB Platform Engineer focuses on the workflows, rules, automation, and user experiences inside the platform that govern how service and configuration data is created, maintained, and used.
• Design and implement platform-native workflows that support CMDB governance, service onboarding, lifecycle management, and service ownership accountability.
• Build automations that reduce manual administrative effort while improving consistency, control, and traceability.
• Ensure workflow behavior aligns to Service-Aware operating model objectives and data governance requirements.
• Implement enforceable controls using business rules, script logic, platform automation, and approval patterns to improve compliance with service and configuration data standards.
• Translate governance requirements into deterministic platform behavior that prevents incomplete, noncompliant, or low-confidence updates.
• Partner with architecture and data roles to operationalize policy-as-code style guardrails within platform processes.
• Develop platform components, forms, workspaces, dashboards, and scoped capabilities that improve how teams interact with service and configuration data.
• Improve the usability of platform experiences for service onboarding, ownership validation, certification, and remediation.
• Ensure platform capabilities support service-aware context, lifecycle progression, and operational decision-making.
• Refactor legacy customizations into maintainable, upgrade-safe implementations aligned to platform engineering standards.
• Reduce brittle logic, hard-coded dependencies, and configuration sprawl that increase operational and upgrade risk.
• Continuously improve maintainability, supportability, and long-term platform sustainability.
• Enable downstream automation by ensuring CMDB-related platform logic supports service visibility, event context, and remediation workflows.
• Support operational use cases where trusted service and configuration data improves prioritization, triage, and issue containment.
