What you'll do:


Partner with the CMDB Steward to operationalize CMDB standards across AT&T's ServiceNow platform. Drive enforcement, development, health, and data analysis that move CMDB from fragmented, source-specific practices to a mature enterprise model. Embed data-driven and AI-enabled capabilities such as automated data validation, ownership remediation, and intelligent quality reporting across hydration, transformation, and discovery.

  • Architecture and Design: Build scalable, high-availability components for CMDB enforcement, attestation, certification, and exception handling. Integrate automation, AI, and data analytics for efficiency and consistency.
  • Standards Enforcement: Apply the CMDB Data Enforcement Standard and Transformation Architecture Standard to in-flight and proposed work. Review HLDs and solution designs against the Platform Steward HLD Review Criteria. Hold ingesting teams accountable for IRE participation, identifying attributes, ownership population, and reconciliation expectations.
  • Ingestion Partnership: Serve as a CMDB point of contact for hydration, transformation, and discovery teams during design, build, and operationalization. Review data mappings, coordinate IRE rules, class selection, relationship modeling, and identifier strategy with source teams.
  • Development: Build and maintain CMDB enforcement components, including business rules, script includes, ACLs, transform maps, and scoped app artifacts. Implement attestation, certification, and exception handling logic in CMDB Data Policy App custom tables. Develop tooling for stale record handling, cleanup jobs, and reporting surfaces.
  • CMDB Health and Operations: Operate and improve KPI frameworks covering stale records, duplicates, ownership gaps, unmatched records, and group coverage. Drive remediation campaigns across hydration, transformation, and discovery sources. Maintain CI Group scope definitions and certification cadence. Monitor scheduled jobs, discovery activity, and active transactions; intervene when jobs require kill or restart.
  • Data Analysis: Build and maintain SQL queries supporting CI counts, ownership completeness, discovery counts, and CI Group reporting. Produce ad hoc analysis to support governance decisions, audit findings, and executive briefings. Validate transformation outcomes against baseline datasets.
  • Sprint-Based Delivery: Use iterative sprint approach to develop standardized policies and tools, pilot quickly, and scale across the enterprise.
  • Technical Leadership: Guide cross-functional engagements, foster innovation, and align CMDB solutions with business objectives.
  • Performance and Reliability: Analyze platform performance, troubleshoot proactively, and minimize incidents. Benchmark metrics and build dashboards for tracking progress.
  • Governance and Compliance: Standardize CMDB processes with secure, auditable, and repeatable patterns. Support attestation and certification cycles aligned to enterprise policy requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use post-deployment analytics to refine processes and adopt emerging trends.
  • Documentation and Training: Maintain clear documentation and deliver training on CMDB standards, enforcement patterns, and data quality practices to enterprise partners.
  • Mentoring; Drives Culture of Continuous Improvement

What you'll need:

  • Expert level knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, including data model, IRE, Discovery, Service Mapping, and scoped applications; best-in-class CMDB governance and data quality practices.
  • Data and AI Skillset: Advanced data analytics, KPI metrics, and prompt engineering expertise; guiding development of Agentic AI workflows and Gen AI use cases; Power BI, Python.
  • Governance and Communication: Establishing process framework, implementing solutions and tools, building standardized playbooks, and leading governance reviews for enterprise-wide CMDB implementation.

What you'll bring:

Required

  • 3+ years in Systems Engineering, ITSM, or CMDB platform roles
  • Expertise in ServiceNow CMDB, IRE, Discovery, scoped application development, SQL, and data analytics
  • Experience with AI technologies, Python, SQL, data analytics, Power BI, and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Modern enterprise CMDB governance, attestation and certification design patterns, and data policy enforcement
  • Advanced expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI

  • BS/BA in Computer Science
