Location: 100% Remote Contract Length: 3 months

Top Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience with ITSM/ITIL processes, roles and responsibilities
  • 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow CMDB
  • Experience with CMDB Discovery including performing research to figure out why something is not discovering in CMDB, etc.
  • Strong communication skills- will have to work with stakeholders in Security and other LOBs to ensure data in CMDB is accurate.
Day to Day Responsibilities/Project specifics:

Position Summary: This resource will be brought on to support the current CMDB Manager. The big focus right now is getting more information into the CMDB and ensuring the information is up to date and accurate.

The manager will continue to drive value of CMDB to the business. He/she will work with CI owners to help maintain and validate their data. Drive data mapping importance to the business and incorporate processes to drive for data mapping of new critical services that are being implemented into our environment. Responsible for validation and auditing of Discovery data, resolve CI conflicts and reduce and eliminate duplicates. Thorough understanding of configuration management principles, methodologies and tools and understanding of data models and data relationships as they relate to the configuration management. Good understanding of data center infrastructure and end user technology environments. Responsible for collection and reporting of KPIs & metrics to subsequently measure, review & analyze the effectiveness & efficiency of the CMDB/Asset repositories. Work with Application/Infrastructure SMEs to validate the relationship information contained in the CMDB for key applications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Implement and evolve the US ITAM program as mandated by executive management

Implement and evolve an align ITAM Vision, Objectives and Roadmap and ensure alignment with company projects.

Implement and evolve a yearly CMDB ownership of Cis review with stakeholders.

Implement and evolve clear roles, accountabilities for CMDB (RACI) and support for stakeholders.

Evolve a yearly advanced training for all IT staff (internal and external) including clear communication on penalties.

2. Design, implement and evolve strategically designed processes and procedures to ensure stakeholders are validating their CMDB data.

Design, implement and evolve US processes and procedures to analyze stakeholder wastage where CMDB items are not being added/removed in accordance with policies and procedures.

3. Ensure trustworthy ITAM and CMDB Data

Design, implement and evolve processes and procedures ensuring accurate and complete insights in the various CMDB data.

Design, implement and evolve ITAM and CMDB Tools that gather, reconcile and record data of high accuracy, completeness, consistency and integrity (trustworthy data) as well as maintaining CMDB to allow changes risk to be determined prior to the change being implemented based on the Cis associated with the changes.

Design, implement and evolve processes and procedures aimed to verify and rectify ITAM and CMDB data accuracy, completeness, consistency and integrity

Design, implement and evolve processes and procedures aimed to verify and rectify the ITAM and CMDB data access controls because of the confidentiality of the data.

Design, implement and evolve processes and procedures to improve the ITAM and CMDB tooling functionality.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience with ITSM/ITIL Processes, roles and responsibilities
  • 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow CMDB
  • Experience with CMDB Discovery including performing research to figure out why something is not discovering in CMDB, etc.
  • Strong Excel skills including vlookups. Will need to extract data from CMDB into Excel to analyze and create reports with data.
  • Strong communication skills- will have to work with stakeholders in Security and other LOBs to ensure data in CMDB is accurate.
