Planet Fitness Multi-Club Manager
Position Summary
The Multi-Club Manager is responsible for providing leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for multiple Planet Fitness locations. This position ensures that each club consistently delivers an exceptional member experience while achieving company standards for sales, staffing, cleanliness, customer service, training, maintenance, and overall profitability.
The Multi-Club Manager serves as a key leader between senior leadership and individual club management teams. The position is responsible for developing Club Managers and Assistant Managers, holding leadership teams accountable, identifying operational opportunities, and ensuring consistent execution of Planet Fitness standards across all assigned locations.
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
  • Provide leadership and direction to Club Managers and Assistant Managers across multiple locations.
  • Establish clear expectations, goals, and performance standards for each club.
  • Conduct regular club visits, operational walkthroughs, and leadership meetings.
  • Hold management teams accountable for results, policies, procedures, and company standards.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop managers to strengthen the leadership bench.
  • Identify high-potential employees and assist with succession planning and career development.
  • Address performance issues promptly and work with senior leadership and Human Resources when corrective action is necessary.

Operations
  • Ensure all clubs operate according to Planet Fitness policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Monitor daily operations, staffing levels, scheduling, opening and closing procedures, and overall club execution.
  • Ensure clubs maintain a clean, safe, welcoming, and Judgment Free environment.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and follow up on deficiencies.
  • Monitor maintenance requests and ensure repairs are completed promptly.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance responsibilities are being completed consistently.
  • Review operational reports and identify trends requiring corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and company procedures.

Member Experience & Customer Service
  • Ensure management teams consistently provide outstanding customer service.
  • Reinforce the Planet Fitness Judgment Free Zone® philosophy.
  • Monitor member feedback, Listen360 results, complaints, and service recovery.
  • Coach managers and team members on effective communication and member engagement.
  • Ensure teams consistently greet members, conduct tours, answer questions, and address concerns professionally.

Sales & Membership Growth
  • Establish and monitor sales goals for each assigned club.
  • Review membership sales, Black Card penetration, upgrades, cancellations, and other key performance indicators.
  • Coach managers on sales processes, lead follow-up, tours, promotions, and closing techniques.
  • Ensure current marketing promotions are properly communicated and executed at club level.
  • Analyze club performance and develop strategies to increase membership growth and revenue.
  • Hold management teams accountable for achieving established sales and membership goals.

Staffing & Scheduling
  • Ensure each location maintains appropriate staffing levels based on business needs.
  • Review schedules for proper coverage, productivity, and labor efficiency.
  • Ensure managers are scheduling employees according to company guidelines and operational requirements.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, promotion, and termination decisions as appropriate.
  • Ensure new employees receive proper onboarding and training.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, timekeeping, uniforms, name badges, and workplace conduct.
  • Ensure management teams maintain accurate employee documentation and follow company policies.

Training & Development
  • Ensure all employees and managers complete required Planet Fitness training and certification programs.
  • Monitor Planet Fitness University (PFU) course completion and training compliance.
  • Conduct or coordinate management development and leadership training.
  • Evaluate management performance and create individualized development plans when needed.
  • Reinforce consistent execution of training standards across all locations.
  • Develop future Club Managers and Assistant Managers through coaching, testing, and hands-on development.

Financial & Administrative Accountability
  • Monitor club performance against financial and operational goals.
  • Review labor, payroll, supplies, inventory, and other controllable expenses.
  • Ensure managers follow cash-handling and administrative procedures.
  • Monitor payroll accuracy and address timekeeping issues.
  • Ensure required reports, documentation, and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and reduce unnecessary expenses.

Facility & Maintenance Oversight
  • Conduct regular facility inspections across assigned clubs.
  • Ensure clubs meet Planet Fitness standards for cleanliness, appearance, and equipment condition.
  • Monitor maintenance tickets and follow up on outstanding repairs.
  • Ensure equipment and facility issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Hold management teams accountable for preventative maintenance and daily cleaning standards.
  • Ensure safety hazards are identified and corrected immediately.

Qualifications
Required
  • Previous management experience in a fitness, retail, hospitality, sales, or customer-service environment.
