Why this role is important to us
The team you will be joining is part of the Technology Business Office in the GTS Management division, a critical function as State Street continues to migrate applications to the cloud.
What you will be responsible for
  • Cloud consumption cost monitoring and oversight: Utilize a suite of Cloud FinOps tools to ensure the financial health of multiple cloud environments.
  • Development and maintenance of technology cost visualization and reporting: Provide insights to leadership and key stakeholders (replacing "other personas"), with an emphasis on automation and self-service to promote transparency and efficiency.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Own the development of budgets and forecasts by leveraging financial analysis, insights, and recommendations. This includes analyzing historical data, market trends, and business objectives to create accurate financial projections.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. This includes analyzing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to optimize costs and improve cloud resource efficiency by analyzing expenditure patterns, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and recommending cost reduction initiatives.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to cloud spending. Implement controls and governance mechanisms to prevent unauthorized spending and optimize resource utilization. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to address cloud-related audit findings or issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, operations, and IT teams to gather data, understand business requirements, and support financial decision-making.

  • 5+ years of combined experience in Cloud FinOps and Finance roles within a Fortune 500 / Fortune Global 500 company
  • Experience with AWS and Azure and data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Certified Cloud Practitioner required (fixed spelling)
  • Knowledge of cloud financial operations or experience building allocation methodologies to appropriately distribute shared services (clarified wording)
  • Experience creating cost and savings dashboards for executive reporting to promote efficiency initiatives
  • Ability to foster strong relationships across client organizations, including effective working relationships with end users
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $157,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
