Position Overview
Aligned Technology Group is seeking a FinOps Engineer / Cloud Financial Analyst to help customers optimize and govern their AWS cloud spend. This role combines technical AWS expertise with financial analysis to identify cost savings opportunities, implement cloud financial management best practices, and drive operational efficiency across complex AWS environments.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and implement AWS cost optimization opportunities, including rightsizing, Reserved Instances, and Savings Plans
  • Establish and enforce cloud cost allocation and tagging strategies
  • Configure cost anomaly detection, alerting, and reporting capabilities
  • Analyze recommendations from AWS Trusted Advisor and AWS Cost Optimization Hub
  • Deliver monthly cost optimization reports and executive recommendations
  • Educate customer teams on FinOps best practices and cloud financial management
  • Support implementation of FinOps Foundation frameworks and standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to improve cloud governance

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of AWS cloud operations, FinOps, or cloud financial management experience
  • Strong understanding of AWS billing, Cost Explorer, CUR, Savings Plans, and Reserved Instances
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization and governance programs
  • Knowledge of AWS Organizations and multi-account environments
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner preferred
  • AWS certification preferred
