Cloud Engineer 100% remote US Citizenship is required per government contract $50/hr W2 The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services to support enterprise applications and operations. This role ensures the scalability, reliability, and security of cloud environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions. This role will work with cross-functional teams to support cloud-based applications and services, automate deployments, and ensure system reliability and performance. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, strong scripting skills, and a solid understanding of DevOps practices and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and Implement Cloud Infrastructure – 30% Build scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud architectures using services from AWS, Azure, or GCP. 2. Automate Infrastructure and Deployments (IaC) – 25% Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate environment setup. 3. Monitor, Troubleshoot, and Optimize Systems – 20% Use monitoring tools to track system health, resolve performance issues, and continuously optimize cloud resources for cost and efficiency. 4. Ensure Security and Compliance – 15% Apply cloud security best practices, manage IAM policies, and ensure systems comply with organizational and regulatory requirements. 5. Support CI/CD and DevOps Practices – 10% Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, integrating automation to streamline code deployments and testing workflows. Nice to have skills: • Cloud Platform Expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) – 3+ years Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing services on at least one major cloud platform. • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) – 2+ years Proven ability to automate infrastructure provisioning and management using IaC tools. • Networking & Security in the Cloud – 3+ years Solid knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, encryption, and compliance best practices. • Monitoring & Troubleshooting Tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.) – 2+ years Ability to proactively monitor performance and quickly resolve issues in cloud environments.
