Job Title: Packer 6a-6p 12 hour shiftsLocation: Wellsville, PAPay: $17.85/hour

Job Description

This role focuses on accurately packing finished products in a high-volume manufacturing environment on a 12-hour day shift schedule. You will work with both small and longer pieces, follow detailed packing instructions, and help maintain a safe and organized workspace. Initial training and orientation take place on a standard daytime schedule before transitioning to the regular Crew B rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Pack finished products according to training, work directions, and established procedures.
  • Handle both smaller items and longer, heavier pieces, working with a partner when weight or length requires two people.
  • Stand for extended periods during 12-hour shifts while maintaining focus and attention to detail.
  • Count and record pieces accurately, ensuring correct quantities and documentation.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals to perform tasks correctly and safely.
  • Use hand tools and labeling equipment as required for packing and material handling tasks.
  • Pick, load, and move materials using appropriate tools and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Operate RF scanners and follow picking and loading instructions as needed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of required PPE and adherence to facility rules.
  • Comply with policies regarding the use of cell phones and portable electronic devices on the manufacturing floor.
  • Participate in training sessions, including classroom and on-the-floor instruction on safety, new hire information, benefits, and job-specific procedures.
  • Follow attendance, call-off, and communication procedures as outlined during orientation.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area.
  • Adhere to scheduled breaks and lunch periods in accordance with shift guidelines.

Essential Skills

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing environment with a 12-hour day shift rotation from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., following a defined schedule reviewed during the hiring process. Orientation and initial training run on an 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. schedule, Monday through Friday. The facility is not temperature controlled and can become very hot in the summer, while remaining comfortable in the winter. Cell phones and other portable electronic devices are strictly prohibited during working hours on the manufacturing floor to maintain safety and focus. Twelve-hour shift employees receive three paid 10-minute breaks and a paid 20-minute lunch; eight-hour shift employees receive two paid 10-minute breaks and a paid 20-minute lunch. The break room offers free coffee, fresh market options with easy payment methods, and fountain soda (no bottles or cans), and cans or bottles are not allowed on-site due to safety concerns. The dress code requires long pants and prohibits watches and wrist jewelry, rings, dangly or gauged earrings, long or loose hair and facial hair that is not properly controlled, loose clothing, hoodie strings, shorts, sweat, yoga, or stretch pants, open-toe or heeled shoes, exposed necklaces, clothing with holes, sleeveless or cut-off shirts, and clothing with offensive or derogatory references. Required PPE includes steel-toe boots and safety glasses. The work culture is grounded in core values of safety, integrity, respect, and drive, with a strong emphasis on following safety rules, attendance guidelines, and proper timekeeping, including not clocking in more than seven minutes before the scheduled start time unless approved by a supervisor.
