Job description

Shared Services: IS Strategic Program Management (Full-Time, Day Shift) -

Job Summary: The Project Manager Sr-IT is responsible for delivering service excellence utilizing people, processes, and technology in an Integrated Delivery System (IDS). Manages large to very large, cross functional projects. Provides consultative support to the Project Director and Project Service Leaders; initiate, plan, execute, control and close projects according to the established Project Management Methodology to ensure project meets or exceeds timeline, budget and quality expectations; request resources and coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. Works with IS Unified Infrastructure leadership to define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Interacts regularly with IS leadership, the Strategic Program Management Office. Utilizes leadership skills, sound judgment, and discretion to positively impact project teams and overall project success. Makes management presentations and submits reports as required. These services may be provided for various entities with the LLU Health System. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required or an additional three years of experience required in lieu of degree. Master's degree preferred. Minimum eight years of experience in project management in all aspects of project delivery required; preferably in healthcare project management.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and understanding of clinical processes and workflow. Able to use project planning software, spreadsheets, and word processing software; input data, typing, copying, and effective use of the telephone. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS project, Access, etc). Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate; accept direction. Ability to deal effectively with people and elicit support from other department areas, vendors, and customers. Excellent analytic, communication, and documentation skills. Able to organize technical work; demonstrate excellent planning, problem solving, analysis, documentation, presentation and organization skills; analyze and interpret data, processes and needs based on limited information; organize work and resources; define problems and solutions, prioritize work load; make recommendations; manage time effectively and plan and implement objectives effective. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Certification in Project Management, such as Preferred Project Management Institute (PMP or CAPM), International Institute for Learning (APMC), or American Academy of Project Management required. Epic certification required within one year of employment.
