Responsibilities
  • Responsible for promoting Mayo Clinic's core values and supporting community-based health care and integrated delivery systems through the sale of Mayo Medical Laboratories (MCL) tests. In alignment with the MCL sales process and the clients they are assigned to work with in collaborative selling.
  • Accountable for generating new business revenue and co-developing with our clients their specific account and/or test selling and promotional strategies.
  • In collaboration with the CSR Director, Regional Director of Sales, Regional Managers and their clients, project annual sales growth, market dynamics and economic conditions. Co-develop and implement business plans for territory/accounts with the CSR Director, Regional Director of Sales, Regional Managers and their clients.
  • Effectively sell and compel buying influences to move testing to Mayo and their clients by differentiating from competing interests. Coordinate appropriate resources, develop presentations and participate in the bid process for new and upsell opportunities.
  • In collaboration with Product Managers and the CSR Director, Regional Director of Sales, Regional Managers identify specific tests or groups of tests that are differentiated in the market and pursue upsells to targeted clients. With regional manager, negotiate pricing, coordinate contract development and execution and monitor the accurate lock-in of prices.
  • Field based sales position, and an occasional overnight is required/expected
  • Bachelor's and three years' experience in sales (preferably within the market segment they will be representing (e.g., Neurology), physician/client facing contact or negotiating contracts within a hospital or laboratory setting.
  • This position requires incumbent to work from an office in their home located with territory of support, relocation is not offered for this position: South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Montana.

This position requires a 2-year commitment to the role.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's and three years' experience in sales (preferably within the market segment they will be representing (e.g., Neurology), physician/client facing contact or negotiating contracts within a hospital or laboratory setting.
  • This position requires incumbent to work from an office in their home located with territory of support:

  • Master's in business, medical technology, or sciences preferred. Must have excellent human relations, management, and communications skills.
  • Must be accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible, and able to perform well within multifunctional environments, and be customer focused.
  • Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects. Decision-making and problem-solving ability, adherence to Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Laboratories policies and procedures.
  • Ability to function and work in a diverse work environment while selling Mayo Clinic Laboratories Services and providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, informative, and professional manner. Keeping a positive and courteous tone, particularly in adversarial discussions. Keeping abreast of regulatory issues, reimbursement issues, and service requirements.
  • Sales experience in Hematology/Oncology or Pathology is preferred.

License or Certification: 

  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record are required, along with the ability to travel extensively on all forms of major public transportation.
  • FACHE certification preferred.
