Position Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Location: Irvine, CA
Department: Clinical Laboratory
Schedule: Full-Time, In-Person About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team at Monarch Diagnostics. This position plays a vital role in supporting the laboratory’s mission by performing high-quality testing in toxicology and infectious disease. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and committed to producing accurate and timely results that directly support patient care and provider decision-making. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine testing in toxicology and infectious disease following established laboratory procedures.
  • Conduct sample preparation, including aliquoting, labeling, and handling specimens in accordance with laboratory SOPs and biosafety requirements.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments such as chemistry analyzers, LC/MS, and molecular platforms.
  • Prepare, analyze, and record results with precision and accuracy while maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the reliability and consistency of all testing.
  • Maintain reagent and supply inventory, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage.
  • Follow all laboratory safety policies and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Assist in training new laboratory personnel or students as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely turnaround of results.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field required.
  • Current ASCP, AMT, or equivalent MLT certification.
  • Prior experience in a clinical laboratory preferred; experience in toxicology or molecular testing is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of CLIA and COLA compliance standards.
