Job Description
Clinical Laboratory - Blood Bank
Schedule
Night shift coverage starting at 21:30, with potential flex to 20:00. Schedule consists of 4x10-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.
Assignment Details
Work setting in a high-volume blood bank within an acute care facility. Expected to handle approximately 30-50 samples daily.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Recent blood bank travel experience within the last 2 years.
  • Experience with Epic/Beaker software.
  • Trauma Level I experience required; may prefer teaching hospital experience.
  • Must have worked in a large hospital with 300+ beds.
  • Current certification in Blood Banking (ASCP-BB or ACP-BB) required.
  • Experience with blood bank software, preferably Immucor and Wellsky.
Responsibilities
  • Perform blood typing, antibody screening, and crossmatching.
  • Conduct transfusion reaction workups.
  • Modify blood components as necessary and screen for Rhogam.
  • Accession, label, and transport specimens while ensuring quality control.
  • Work independently and manage workflow during night shifts.

Compliance / Notes
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays. Requested time off should be included at submission. Background checks and other compliance details will be provided.
