Position Overview:
Under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Clinical Informatics Project Manager is a critical role responsible for leading and supporting the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of clinical information systems. This position requires a strong blend of clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and leadership skills to drive improvements in patient care, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
Position Highlights:

Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Develop and execute the organization's clinical informatics strategy, aligning it with overall organizational goals.
โ€ข Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clinicians, IT professionals, and administrative leaders, to identify opportunities for leveraging technology to enhance patient care.
โ€ข Oversee the selection, implementation, and ongoing management of clinical information systems, including electronic health records (EHRs), clinical decision support systems (CDSS), and other relevant technologies.
โ€ข Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and privacy compliance.
โ€ข Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement, including workflow optimization and system enhancements.
โ€ข Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of clinical systems with other organizational systems.
โ€ข Utilize data analytics tools to extract meaningful insights from clinical data.
โ€ข Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
โ€ข Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
โ€ข Identify trends and patterns in clinical data to inform evidence-based practices and optimize care delivery.
โ€ข Technical, Clinical or Financial Experience in Healthcare setting.
โ€ข Generate reports and dashboards to support clinical decision-making, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
โ€ข Direct experience working with Physicians/Providers, Fiscal Services, and Technical Stakeholders.
โ€ข Schedule and conduct weekly status review meetings to address the progress, accomplishments, work planned, and problems encountered for all tasks and subtasks
โ€ข Review contractual requirements with project team, key stakeholders, and other shareholders
โ€ข Develop weekly reports on the progress of project status deliverables. Status reporting shall focus on service levels, significant events and open action items requiring immediate attention, project issues, staffing issues and budget
โ€ข Develop a monthly report of the status of quality assurance, configuration management, and security management applied to the contract
โ€ข Maintain knowledge of all tasks and subtasks to a detailed level that will allow proper management of staffing resources to meet deliverables within agreed timeframe
โ€ข Implement a communications plan across task/subtasks that will reduce duplicative work and ensure consistent implementation of data standards and application development methods
โ€ข Inform key stakeholders of project issues identified that may negatively affect the successful completion of required deliverables
โ€ข Participate in weekly team meetings with agency leaders and contract staff to provide updates on system development, documentation, training, and technical assistance activities
Qualifications
'โ€ข Degree in nursing or a science or health-related field. RN licensure required.
โ€ข Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networking, and security.
โ€ข Proven experience managing IT projects and budgets.
โ€ข Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Ability to lead and motivate a team.
โ€ข Five plus years of result-oriented project management
โ€ข Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
IT experience in healthcare or hospital setting. Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, MIPS). Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and other clinical systems.
Knowledge of healthcare data standards and interoperability.
Certification in IT management or a related field (e.g., ITIL, PMP) is a plus.
