Job description
1. Oversee the complete administration of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and related medical imaging applications infrastructure, including the Sectra Radiology PACS, Ikonopedia Mammography, Powerscribe Radiology Reporting software, Image Sharing platforms, including Nucleus / Stratus, Ambra, Powershare, Hologic and third-party reading service platforms, among others
2. Lead the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of PACS and related medical imaging applications software and hardware components.
3. Contribute to the resolution and documentation of incidents and outages to our production environment.
4. Collaborate closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient use of the PACS system.
5. Proactively monitor and optimize PACS performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure uninterrupted access to medical imaging data.
6. Provide advanced technical support and training to end-users, troubleshooting complex PACS-related problems.
7. Implements process changes, collects data, and makes recommendations to expedite workflow. Monitors systems, interfaces, and integration pieces.
8. Maintains an up-to-date understanding and working knowledge of the processes involved.
9. Responds appropriately to requests and concerns from users or others affected by the systems.
10. Manage trouble ticket issues list and change request processes within CCHC and with vendors, ensuring timely closure.
11. Informs all medical imaging leadership of changes, problems, and upgrades to PACS and related medical imaging applications
12. Provide user training and technical support for PACS-related applications and activities.
13. Implement and enforce data security protocols to safeguard patient information within the PACS and associated medical imaging applications.
14. Work with the cyber security team do implement and validate robust data security measures to safeguard patient information stored within the PACS.
15. Collaborate with IT teams to integrate PACS seamlessly with other healthcare information systems and technologies.
16. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance and upgrade PACS capabilities.
17. Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation related to PACS configuration, procedures, and protocols.
18. Lead the planning and execution of PACS upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
19. Fulfills On-Call responsibilities as assigned.
20. Challenges current working practices identifies process improvement opportunities and presents recommendations and solutions to management. Engages and commits to the organization's culture of continuous improvement by actively participating, supporting, and promoting CCHC Pillars of Excellence.
21. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
22. Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience in Medical Imaging related field, computer science, Health Informatics, or clinical imaging technology
Knowledge and experience with the Epic Radiant and Cupid systems desirable
Demonstrated and proven communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
Knowledge of data security regulations and compliance standards in healthcare
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex PACS challenges
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Continuous learning mindset to stay current with advancements in the PACS field
(Preferred) Leadership skills to guide a team and coordinate PACS-related activities
(Preferred) 3 years of experience in PACS administration or server/storage/device administration
(Preferred) Proficiency in PACS software and hardware technologies, with a deep understanding of related medical imaging technologies and operational workflows and terminology
(Preferred) Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP), Certified PACS Associate (CPAS), Certified DICOM Integration Professional (CDIP) or Certified PACS System Analyst (CPSA) credentials
