Job description

Under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Director(s), the Exercise Specialist is responsible for supervision of stress testing performed in the Cardiology Department, and supervision of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab as needed to comply with our staffing plan. The Exercise Specialist is responsible for other tasks assigned by the director(s) in accordance with the Exercise Specialist scope of practice including, but not limited to, assisting in stress testing procedures that require RN supervision, and processing Holter monitors. The Exercise Specialist must possess the cognitive skills needed to competently perform treadmill exercise stress tests, nuclear stress testing, and exercise stress echocardiograms with minimal physician oversight, in accordance with policies and procedures. The Exercise Specialist must possess the needed skills to independently assess and supervise patients exercising in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and complete the necessary office workflow and documentation required. Responsible for communicating critical results to appropriate physicians.
Requirement description :

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Exercise Science or related field - Required
  • ACSM-CEP (American College of Sports Medicine Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist) - Required
  • BLS (AHA) & ACLS (AHA) - Required
  • Previous experience and knowledge of isokinetic testing, evaluation, and functional capacity evaluations

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)

Weekend Requirements : No Weekends
On Call Requirements : No Call
