How much do kinesiology hospital jobs pay per hour?
What is a kinesiology hospital job?
A Kinesiology Hospital job involves applying principles of human movement to help patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and enhance overall physical function. Professionals in this role work with healthcare teams to design rehabilitation programs, assist with physical therapy, and promote wellness through exercise science. They may work with a variety of patients, including those recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or improving athletic performance. This role requires knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, and therapeutic exercises to support patient care effectively.
What is the best job you can get with a kinesiology degree?
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the kinesiology hospital position, and why are they important?
To thrive in a hospital kinesiology role, you generally need a strong background in human movement science, a degree in kinesiology or related field, and clinical experience. Familiarity with patient assessment tools, rehabilitation equipment, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems is commonly required, along with certification such as a Certified Kinesiologist in some regions. Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams are highly valued. These qualifications ensure patient safety, effective rehabilitation outcomes, and smooth team integration in a fast-paced hospital environment.
What are the typical responsibilities of a kinesiologist working in a hospital setting?
A hospital-based kinesiologist typically assesses patients' physical abilities, develops rehabilitation plans, and guides patients through tailored exercise programs to promote recovery and mobility. They collaborate closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, physicians, and nursing staff to integrate movement therapies into overall patient care. Kinesiologists also educate patients and their families on injury prevention and post-discharge care, ensuring a holistic approach to rehabilitation. Working in a hospital setting often means managing multiple cases and supporting patients with a wide range of medical conditions, so adaptability and strong organizational skills are important.
