As the field-based medical lead, you will develop and execute medical engagement strategies with assigned US payers for AZ's oncology products, building and maintaining strategic relationships with key decision-makers (KDMs). This role supports AZโ€™s market access strategy by effectively communicating the clinical and economic value of our products, working in partnership with the commercial market access team to ensure optimal patient care.

  • Account Execution:Build relationships withKDMsto advance AZ's oncology priorities, engageinscientific information exchangetodifferentiatevalue proposition for AZโ€™s oncology medicines, and implement initiatives aligning clinical and AstraZeneca interests.
Internal Representation:
  • Internal Representation:Serve as the oncology payer expert within cross-functional teams, contributing to the development of payer-facing resources while delivering valuable insights to inform market access strategies.
Essential Skills/Experience:
  • Advanced Clinical/Science degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD).Applicants with a Scientific Degree (e.g.BS Pharm, Master of Science, BSN, NP, PA, etc.) with extensivemarket access/ industryexperiencemay be considered.
  • At least 5 years of scientific work experience in the pharmaceutical industry or managed markets, focusing on payer strategy, clinical practice, or health outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, accessand reimbursementmodels, health economics, and clinicaloutcomesresearch.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, using storytelling to convey complex information clearly and adapt messages for diverse audiences.
  • Candidates should be willing to travel at least 70% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in oncology;additionaltraining (residency or fellowship) and/orboard certification in oncology (BCOP) areadvantageous.
  • Masterโ€™s degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH) andsignificant experiencein afieldliaison role or managed care setting.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $187,172 to $295,758. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentivesโ€”an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
