POSITION SUMMARY
The role of a Service Technician I directly supports the company's mission by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of wind turbine generators, which are integral to producing 100% renewable energy. The Service Technician I is responsible for performing turbine maintenance and operational tasks in accordance with high safety standards.
The role collaborates closely with the operational and back-office teams to ensure a high level of availability in the wind farm, supporting strong service performance for our customers and contributing to the company's future growth.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Perform routine wind turbine maintenance and basic repairs following established procedures
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues under the guidance of experienced technicians
  • Complete maintenance reports, track work activities, and manage service tickets
  • Support inventory and material management, including receiving, organizing, and tracking parts and tools
  • Prepare tools, materials, and documentation needed for scheduled work
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE inspections, toolbox talks, vehicle inspections, and incident reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and turbine performance
  • Work closely with team members and support additional site operations as needed

WHAT YOU HAVE
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical, wind energy, or engineering education preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in wind energy, industrial maintenance, mechanical, electrical, construction, or a related field
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working at heights of up to 300 feet and climbing wind turbine towers daily
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding environments
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and confined spaces
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call schedule
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport and travel up to 10% for training or support at other sites
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required safety and technical certifications, including working with medium- and high-voltage equipment
  • Must meet OSHA/ANSI weight requirements (265 lbs. or less) and successfully complete a pre-employment physical
