Job description

Responsibilities:

The Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring enterprise data is accurate, consistent, and trusted for decision-making. This role combines analytical expertise with data governance practices to support the effective use and management of data across the organization. Key responsibilities include profiling data, monitoring data quality, enforcing governance standards, and delivering insights that enhance business performance. 

The analyst will work closely with the Data Product Owner, Data Engineering Lead, and various business teams to improve how data is accessed, maintained, and leveraged. This position plays a critical role in promoting data integrity, driving adoption of governance frameworks, and enabling data-driven decision-making. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Perform data profiling and quality assessments across critical systems: Analyzes datasets to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and patterns, ensuring data integrity and readiness for business use.  

  • Monitor data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance with governance standards: Implements ongoing checks and controls to maintain high-quality data aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements. 

  •  Develop and maintain business glossaries, metadata, and data dictionaries: Creates and updates documentation that defines key data elements, ensuring shared understanding and consistency across teams. 

  • Partner with engineering and product teams to resolve data issues and enforce standards: Collaborates cross-functionally to address data quality concerns, implement governance policies, and support scalable data solutions. 

  • Support audits, regulatory requirements, and compliance initiatives (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA where applicable): Prepares and provides data-related documentation and evidence to meet internal and external compliance obligations.  

  • Build and deliver reports and dashboards that track data quality and governance KPIs: Designs visual tools to monitor performance metrics, enabling transparency and continuous improvement in data governance efforts. 

Qualifications: 

  • 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, data governance, or data stewardship 

  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI or Looker 

  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM) 

  • Knowledge of data privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) 

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and documentation capabilities 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business audiences 

Experience: 

  • Hands-on experience conducting data profiling and quality assessments 

  • Experience developing and maintaining business glossaries, metadata, and data dictionaries 

  • Proven track record of collaborating with engineering and product teams to resolve data issues 

  • Experience supporting audits and compliance initiatives related to data governance 

  • Demonstrated ability to build reports and dashboards that track data quality and governance KPIs 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Deep understanding of data governance principles and best practices 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets 

  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools 

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and data compliance standards 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders 

  • Skilled in identifying and resolving data quality issues across systems 

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. 

Travel: Occasional shipboard travel when business requires.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. 

This position is classified as “in-person,” which means the physical office in Orlando.
