Position Overview
The New Product Development Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and validation of residential HVAC systems and components. This role supports innovation initiatives and works cross-functionally with laboratory, manufacturing, and product engineering teams to deliver high-performance, manufacturable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop residential HVAC systems and subsystems

  • Develop and validate thermal and system-level models to support design decisions

  • Collaborate with laboratory teams on performance, reliability, and compliance testing

  • Evaluate system readiness for manufacturability and production

  • Partner with manufacturing to translate design requirements into scalable solutions

  • Troubleshoot system-level issues and support continuous improvement efforts

  • Support multiple small projects or tasks to meet program objectives

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Technical field and at least 3 years of experience with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and design

  • OR Master's degree and at least 1 year of experience with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and design

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics

  • Experience in HVAC system design or related field

  • Knowledge of material science and reliability engineering fundamentals

  • Experience with design of experiments and data analysis techniques

  • Experience with MATLAB, Modelica, or Python

Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
