Job description

Client Service Coordinator - Potential Path to Associate Financial Advisor
Rochester, MN Full-Time In Office
Build Your Career in Financial Services
Are you looking for an opportunity to build a long-term career in financial services while developing strong client service and practice operations skills?
Dennis Bussian, an Ameriprise Financial Services Advisor in Rochester, MN, is seeking a Client Service Coordinator to join our team. This role is primarily focused on providing exceptional client service, supporting practice operations, and helping ensure a positive experience for our clients.
For the right individual, this position may also provide an opportunity to develop toward an Associate Financial Advisor role over time. As you gain experience, demonstrate strong performance, and develop an interest in financial planning and advising, there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and pursue industry licensing.
We are looking for someone who is interested in building a career with our practice and who is open to growing their responsibilities over time. The initial focus of this role is client service and practice support, with the potential for the position to evolve based on the individual's interests, performance, experience, and the needs of the practice.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients and provide an exceptional client experience.
  • Assist clients with account service needs, paperwork, and financial planning-related requests.
  • Prepare materials for client meetings and assist with follow-up activities.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
  • Learn and utilize Ameriprise technology, including CRM, Client Viewer, MoneyGuide, and other practice tools.
  • Support day-to-day practice operations and workflow.
  • Coordinate with advisors and team members to ensure client needs are handled accurately and efficiently.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the client experience and financial planning process.
  • As appropriate, gain exposure to advisor responsibilities and financial planning activities.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as skills, experience, and interests develop.

Potential Career Development
While the primary responsibility of this position is client service, we recognize that talented individuals may have the potential and interest to grow into additional roles within the practice.
Over time, you may have the opportunity to:
  • Gain exposure to financial planning and wealth management.
  • Participate in client meetings and learn more about the advisor process.
  • Develop an understanding of investment products, financial planning strategies, and practice operations.
  • Build deeper relationships with clients and understand their financial goals.
  • Pursue industry licensing, including securities and insurance licenses, with support from the practice.
  • Take on additional responsibilities related to financial planning and client relationships.
  • Potentially progress toward an Associate Financial Advisor role based on performance, experience, demonstrated interest, and business needs.

This is not a guaranteed advisor track or a role that requires an immediate transition into advising. We are primarily seeking a strong Client Service Coordinator who is interested in the possibility of expanding their responsibilities and career within the practice over time.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong interest in building a long-term career in financial services.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional presence and commitment to providing exceptional client service.
  • Curiosity, coachability, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Interest in learning about financial planning and wealth management.
  • Willingness to pursue industry licensing if the role develops toward additional advisor responsibilities.

Previous financial services experience is helpful but not required. We are interested in candidates who are dependable, motivated, client-focused, and interested in developing their careers over the long term.
Why Join Our Team?
This is an opportunity to join a growing financial practice where your contributions will have a direct impact on the client experience and the success of the team.
You will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to the day-to-day operations of a financial practice. As you gain experience, there may be opportunities to expand your responsibilities and explore different career paths within the practice, including a potential transition toward an Associate Financial Advisor role.
Whether your long-term interests remain focused on client service and practice operations or develop toward financial advising, we want to invest in someone who is interested in growing with the team.
About the Opportunity
This position offers the opportunity to become an integral part of the practice and develop a strong understanding of both client service and financial services.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing excellent work, enjoys building relationships, and wants to develop professionally. While the position is centered on client service, there is potential for the role to evolve into additional responsibilities, including an Associate Financial Advisor position, for the right individual.
If you are looking for a long-term opportunity where you can contribute immediately while continuing to learn and grow, we would love to hear from you.
Equal Opportunity Employer
Dennis Bussian is an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
A background check will be conducted as part of the hiring process, and successful completion is required for employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
