Job description

About the Role

Amwins is seeking a highly effective relationship management professional to help steward sophisticated retail client relationships through a scalable, insight-driven service model. This is a high-visibility role for someone who excels at building trust and uncovering client needs, navigating and collaborating with internal colleagues, and developing ways to leverage data and technology to inform stronger decision-making.

The ideal candidate is affable, trustworthy, curious, and highly skilled at managing relationships in a primarily virtual environment. The position is best suited for an individual that knows how to ask thoughtful questions and move beyond surface-level information to uncover the real opportunities or issues. The person is comfortable using performance data and relationship insights to identify growth trends, risks, opportunities, and engagement priorities, and to translate those insights into actionable insight for brokers and leadership.

This role is engaged with Amwins as a national platform, helping deliver a coordinated client engagement strategy through regional and field-level execution. You will work closely with National Relationship Managers, brokers, divisional peers, product leaders, specialty experts, and internal stakeholders to ensure strategic clients feel prioritized, understood, and supported.

This role is ideal for a top-performing individual who wants meaningful impact through a collaborative and data-centric, specialty-focused organization.

What You'll Do

Strategic Relationship Stewardship

  • Steward sophisticated retail client relationships through a primarily virtual service model, ensuring clients receive proactive communication, tailored insights, and coordinated access to Amwins resources.
  • Build trust with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders through thoughtful preparation, active listening, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through.
  • Use consultative questioning to uncover underlying client priorities, concerns, risks, and opportunities beyond initial request.
  • Coordinate intentional client touchpoints that connect clients to Amwins leadership, product expertise, specialty capabilities, and market insights.

Data-Driven Insight & Decision Support

  • Use performance data and relationship insights to identify client growth trends, opportunities, risks, and engagement priorities.
  • Translate data into actionable guidance for brokers, leadership, and relationship stakeholders.
  • Oversee or support the development of internal reports, retail client quarterly reports, client summaries, and executive-ready presentation materials.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with National Relationship Managers and internal stakeholders to align client engagement strategies with enterprise priorities and regional execution.
  • Support client-facing initiatives, including business reviews, product introductions, regional or vertical discussions, client events, and targeted follow-up.
  • Help improve client service standards, operating rhythms, performance tracking, and communication processes.

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 6+ years of insurance experience required; wholesale, specialty, or retail distribution experience helpful.
  • Experience in relationship management, account management, sales support, client strategy, and/or business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client or stakeholder relationships in a virtual, hybrid, or geographically dispersed environment.
  • Proven ability to break down complex initiatives into clear steps, engage stakeholders, assign ownership, and drive follow-through.
  • Proven ability to use data to inform decisions and recommend action.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Power BI and experience, and AI Literacy a plus.

Core Competencies

  • High energy, client-focused mindset, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong execution discipline and follow-through across multiple clients, projects, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage senior internal leaders, brokers and client contacts.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach exhibiting active listening and effective conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about emerging technologies, with a strong interest in leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows and boost productivity.
  • Comfort operating in a developing service model where some standards are established and others must be built.

Why Amwins
