Job description

EVP Trust - Reno

Summary

Our client is a reputable, national financial services platform company. Their growing independent trust entity is seeking an experienced trust professional to lead its Reno office. This role will provide strategic leadership, fiduciary oversight, and relationship management for the Nevada trust platform while supporting continued growth within the high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) client market.

The ideal candidate will bring deep trust administration expertise, strong fiduciary judgment, and the ability to cultivate long-term relationships with clients, advisors, and centers of influence. This individual will serve as both a senior trust officer and market leader, helping to strengthen the firm’s presence within Nevada and the broader Western wealth management and estate planning community.

Key Responsibilities

Trust & Fiduciary Leadership

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the Reno trust office, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and fiduciary standards.
  • Oversee the administration of complex trust, estate, agency, and fiduciary relationships.
  • Ensure trust accounts are administered in accordance with governing documents, applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Review prospective trust relationships and participate in account acceptance discussions and fiduciary risk evaluations.
  • Serve as a senior fiduciary resource for clients, internal team members, and professional advisors.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with HNW and UHNW individuals, families, and multi-generational family groups.
  • Serve as lead relationship manager and trust officer for select complex fiduciary relationships.
  • Meet directly with clients, attorneys, CPAs, RIAs, and other advisors regarding estate planning, fiduciary administration, wealth transfer strategies, and trust matters.
  • Deliver a high-touch, service-oriented client experience focused on long-term relationship management.

Business Development & Market Presence

  • Support strategic growth initiatives for the Nevada trust platform through relationship development and community engagement.
  • Cultivate referral relationships with estate planning attorneys, wealth advisors, family offices, CPAs, and private banking professionals.
  • Represent the trust company within the Reno, Tahoe, and broader Nevada professional community through networking and industry involvement.
  • Help position the firm as a trusted fiduciary partner for sophisticated families and business owners.

Operational & Team Leadership

  • Partner with executive leadership to support operational excellence, compliance, and fiduciary best practices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and operational improvements.
  • Mentor and support trust administration staff and foster a collaborative, client-focused office culture.
  • Work closely with investment, tax, legal, and operations teams to deliver integrated fiduciary solutions.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of trust administration and fiduciary experience, preferably within an independent trust company, private bank, or wealth management environment.
  • Prior leadership or management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience administering complex trust structures, estates, agency accounts, and closely held business interests.
  • Strong understanding of fiduciary governance, trust operations, and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of trust administration, estate settlement, fiduciary principles, and wealth transfer planning.
  • Experience working with HNW and UHNW clients and sophisticated advisor networks.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and professional advisors.
  • Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex fiduciary matters.
  • Highly organized with strong operational and problem-solving capabilities.

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • CTFA designation strongly preferred.
  • Additional fiduciary, estate planning, or wealth management credentials are a plus.

What’s Offered

  • Opportunity to lead an established and respected Nevada trust office.
  • Long-term leadership role within a growing independent fiduciary platform.
  • Collaborative culture focused on sophisticated fiduciary service and client relationships.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package, including equity.
  • Flexible and relationship-driven work environment.
