What you'll do

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities is a national charity dedicated to helping kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities. With an extensive, national network of more than 1,000 grantees and 289 local chapters, Jumpstart helps eligible families cover the costs of registration, transportation, and equipment, and provides funding to selected organizations for recreational infrastructure and programming.

Jumpstart Relationship Managers play a key role in Jumpstart's commitment to strengthening community sport across Canada, and in ensuring all kids have an opportunity to realize the benefits of participating in sport and play.Reporting to the Manager, Stakeholder Relations the Relationship Manager builds, grows and maintains relationships with key community stakeholders, including Canadian Tire Dealers, donors, and local community sport organizations.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with dealers, donors, banners, and local community sport organizations to understand their localized challenges and needs.
  • Provide consistent, timely, and accurate communication to stakeholders. And support the effective tracking and measurement of all interactions.

Community Engagement:

  • Actively engage with local communities to identify their operational and programmatic needs.
  • Make recommendations for support based on these needs (e.g., grants, capacity building, program design).
  • Leverage a combination of in-person and digital platforms to connect with and manage stakeholder relationships.

Internal Collaboration:

  • Serve as an ambassador for community needs within Jumpstart.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate community needs into grant processes, program design, and delivery methods.

Measurement and Evaluation:

  • Support the measurement, evaluation, and reporting of community grants.
  • Assess the impact and effectiveness of funded programs through a variety of channels including program visits and reporting.

Program Support:

  • Assist in the implementation of Jumpstart's investment programs.
  • Support grant review process and provide recommendations (informed by community need) for grant applications as needed.
  • Support projects and opportunities that enhance stakeholders' engagement and support of Jumpstart's impact

What you bring

  • Minimum 5 years work experience
  • University and/or College education
  • Sport and recreation experience and asset
  • Role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual, French and English (written and spoken)
  • This is a field-based position requiring regular travel (up to 70%) within your region and requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's licence. The successful candidate will have to provide proof that s/he has a valid driver's licence upon being hired.
