Reports to: Area Manager or Senior Operations Manger
Summary:
The Operations Manager plays a critical role in driving safety, quality, and efficiency in Outdoor Pride Landscaping's field operations. They manage all aspects of landscape maintenance in their division. This includes scheduling as well as directing personnel and resources towards providing quality, cost-effective maintenance services to clients.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for training and developing the individuals reporting to them by providing day-to-day operational scheduling and guidance. In this role they will often be actively working with their team, especially in the winter months.

Job Duties:
  • Build and develop an outstanding team and supporting a #OneTeam environment
  • Ensure all crews within the division have a plan daily and are working productively
  • Work alongside team often for quality control, training and production purposes
  • Train on and strictly enforce all safety policies by means of weekly safety tailgates and continuous follow up
  • Hold employees accountable to schedules, start times and company policies
  • Schedule all crews within division in Aspire
  • Oversee crew leader and crew-member industry training and certification; identify and develop high performing crew members into crew leaders
    • Develop employees and meet regularly with them to provide feedback
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication with Account Manager, quality control of completed work and following up on issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve operations and best approach for implementation
  • Recruit employees as needed during the season
  • Fiscally responsible and accountable to budget. Must ensure that goals are met, and budgets are followed.
  • Approve direct reports payroll and time off requests
    • Timesheets approved daily and reviewed weekly with all times validated, crew members accounted for, correct tasks and good notes
  • Perform and track if necessary all preventative maintenance and simple fixes on equipment
  • Confirm all trucks and trailers always meet Federal DOT requirements
  • Active role in snow operations at a dedicated site/area
  • Suggest upselling opportunities to Account Manager of enhancement services
  • Coordinate with other divisions and subcontractors as needed to ensure that work is completed successfully, on budget and on time
  • Assist in other duties and objectives as administered by the Senior Operations Manager, Area Manager or Director of Operations

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOT Medical Card
  • 5 years of landscape experience including 3 years as a crew leader (flexible based upon other qualifications)
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) or a willingness to develop
  • Knowledge (or willingness to develop) of Aspire Estimating and Time Software
  • Management and training experience.
  • Knowledge of local turfs, shrubs, groundcover, and seasonal color including growth characteristics, appropriate maintenance techniques, and most common issues

Work Conditions
  • Often lifting a minimum of 50 repeatedly through an entire work shift
  • Shifts can include walking and standing for long periods of time - excellent stamina required

  • Work outdoors in various conditions including heat & humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold conditions
