About the Team

Gateway Online Academy of Ohio is a fulltime, online option for students that need to catch-up and cross the finish line to high school graduation. Gateway is a proud member of the Accel Schools network, with decades of experience serving students virtually throughout the United States. Join this exciting movement and watch students explore, grow, and learn in an innovative public-school option, at home. We are seeking teachers who are excited to create a rigorous and nurturing classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development. ACCEL Schools uses a cutting-edge 21st-century curriculum, which can be accessed online and through a variety of traditional methods.

Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.

About the Opportunity

The Operations Program Specialist works with our Operations Manager to create, implement, and audit processes and procedures that support compliance to school board, state, and federal guidelines and promote effective online school systems. The Operations Program Specialist works to ensure that the Gateway schools have the tools and processes in place to support teachers, students, and parents in the pursuit of an effective online education.

  • Responsible for tracking and reporting data as directed by Supervisor
  • Support Administration in all internal operational needs
  • Responsible for the management of contact changes in the student information system
  • Responsible for understanding compliance requirements
  • Assist with developing and maintaining operational processes for Gateway
  • Help maintain school wide data for reports
  • Completing paperwork for families
  • Storing Grades
  • Assist with school and state audits
  • Act as a resource for internal (staff) and external (students and families) stakeholders by providing resolution and management of escalated needs across a variety of areas, including, but not limited to, school procedures, technology systems, materials, course, and teacher assignments, etc.
  • Answering phone calls
  • Responsible for understanding compliance requirements
  • Assist with testing coordination
  • Reports to Operations Manager and Head of School
  • Fill in as a substitute or facilitate the coverage of duties for the Operations Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned
About You
  • Ohio residency
  • Bachelor's degree in education or business-related experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products
  • Above average spreadsheet skills including the ability to use basic and intermediate formulas and functions
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality
  • Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations
  • Ability to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicated
  • Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and / or company welfare
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team members
  • Prior administrative assistance experience preferred
  • Prior experience working in a school setting preferred
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
  • Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks

The annual starting salary for this position is between $45,000 – $55,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
