Job description

Aramark Nexus is seeking experienced Director of Operations candidates who are interested in future on-site leadership opportunities across Nexus locations throughout the United States. If you are a Director of Operations, Hotel Director of Operations, Resort Operations Leader, Assistant General Manager, Rooms Division Leader, Lodging Operations Director, Food and Beverage Operations Leader, or senior hospitality operations professional interested in joining Aramark Nexus, please apply to be considered for current and future opportunities.

The Director of Operations is the number two leader on site, reporting to the VP and Managing Director. This role is designed for a builder, operator, and hospitality leader who can help stand up, open, stabilize, and scale a large Nexus workforce hospitality community.

This is not a general administrative operations role. The ideal candidate will bring direct experience leading lodging or hotel operations, rooms division, guest services, housekeeping, accommodations, and food and beverage operations in a complex service environment. Nexus is looking for a leader who understands how to run the property, connect departments, solve issues in real time, and build the operating rhythm required for a large residential hospitality community.

Nexus opportunities are often located in remote or unique workforce community environments where our teams support large-scale hospitality, food service, lodging, facilities, residential, transportation, recreation, wellness, housekeeping, maintenance, retail, safety, and guest services operations. These roles are built for leaders who can bring structure, urgency, discipline, and hospitality standards to complex on-site operations.

The Director of Operations works hand in hand with the VP and Managing Director to execute the operating model, lead department heads, solve issues, support the resident guest experience, and keep the full property moving in the same direction. This person must understand both the guest-facing experience and the back-of-house systems that make a large property work.

This opportunity is a strong fit for operational leaders who enjoy building new operations from the ground up, leading lodging and food and beverage teams, creating accountability, improving processes, and helping large teams deliver a premium hospitality experience in a workforce community setting.

Room and Board

Many Aramark Nexus opportunities are based in remote or residential workforce community locations. Depending on the assignment, Aramark employees may have access to free on-site accommodations as part of their employment.

These accommodations are designed to support employees working in unique operating environments where living on site may be part of the experience. Meals may also be included for Aramark staff while assigned to the location.

About Aramark Nexus

Aramark Nexus is redefining workforce communities for the industries building the future. Nexus develops and operates hospitality-driven workforce communities that support major infrastructure, energy, technology, and industrial projects across the United States.

Our communities provide housing, dining, recreation, wellness, transportation, housekeeping, facilities, guest services, and support services designed to create an exceptional living experience for residents working on critical projects.

Unlike traditional workforce housing operations, Nexus is built around a hospitality-first philosophy. We believe residents deserve an experience that feels more like a premium hotel or resort than a temporary work camp. Our teams create environments where people can recharge, connect, and perform at their best.

For candidates looking for Director of Operations, hotel operations, resort operations, workforce accommodations, remote site operations, food and beverage operations, rooms division, lodging operations, or large-scale hospitality leadership opportunities, Aramark Nexus offers the opportunity to build operations, lead teams, and help shape the future of workforce hospitality.

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the number two on-site leader, reporting to the VP and Managing Director.
  • Lead daily on-site operations across assigned Nexus workforce hospitality communities.
  • Partner with the VP and Managing Director to translate strategy, client expectations, and business priorities into operational execution.
  • Lead daily on-site operations with direct focus on lodging, hotel-style operations, rooms division, guest services, housekeeping, accommodations, food and beverage, culinary services, facilities, transportation, recreation, safety, security, and resident support.
  • Partner with site leadership to build, open, stabilize, and scale Nexus workforce hospitality communities.
  • Establish operating routines, service standards, communication rhythms, and accountability systems across lodging, food and beverage, and property operations.
  • Ensure rooms, accommodations, shared spaces, dining outlets, support services, and guest-facing areas are operating at a consistent hospitality standard.
  • Drive alignment across food service, facilities, housekeeping, maintenance, transportation, guest services, recreation, wellness, retail, safety, security, and support departments.
  • Keep projects, initiatives, department priorities, and operating rhythms moving forward across the property.
  • Build structure, accountability, and follow-through across department leaders and frontline teams.
  • Support startup, mobilization, opening, stabilization, and ongoing operation of large-scale workforce hospitality communities.
  • Monitor operational readiness, daily performance, resident guest experience, safety, staffing, service quality, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify barriers, solve problems, escalate risks, and drive corrective actions.
  • Support a hospitality culture focused on delivering an exceptional resident guest experience.
  • Ensure resident touchpoints are coordinated, including arrival, accommodations, shared spaces, dining, transportation, recreation, and support services.
  • Lead service recovery efforts and continuous improvement initiatives with a guest-first mindset.
  • Support leadership meetings, operational reviews, project updates, readiness plans, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Use data, reporting, operating metrics, financial information, and field observation to support decision-making.

  • Lead through growth, changing business conditions, shifting project timelines, and operational complexity.
  • Maintain a safe, stable, well-managed operation for residents, guests, employees, clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Support future growth initiatives, expansion opportunities, and scalable operating practices that can be replicated across future Nexus locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Prior experience leading large, complex, multi-department operations required.
  • Experience reporting to or partnering closely with senior site leadership, general managers, managing directors, executive directors, or client-facing leaders.
  • Strong operational discipline with the ability to prioritize, execute, follow up, and keep multiple teams aligned.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to lead department heads and influence without needing to own every function directly.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to create clarity in fast-moving environments with competing priorities.
  • Ability to build trust with clients, residents, employees, department leaders, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to support financial performance, operational metrics, staffing plans, service standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of both front-of-house guest experience and back-of-house operating systems.
  • Ability to build structure, create accountability, connect leaders, and keep a large property moving in the same direction.
  • Ability to work on site in remote or residential workforce community locations throughout the United States, depending on business needs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended operational needs.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience as a Director of Operations, Hotel Director of Operations, Resort Operations Leader, Assistant General Manager, Rooms Division Leader, Lodging Operations Director, Food and Beverage Operations Leader, Site Operations Director, Campus Operations Leader, Facilities Operations Director, or senior operations leader.
  • Experience leading both lodging operations and food and beverage operations in the same property, campus, resort, hotel, remote site, or workforce community.
  • Experience opening, mobilizing, launching, stabilizing, or scaling hospitality, lodging, workforce accommodations, resort, hotel, campus, remote site, or large residential operations.
  • Experience building new operations from the ground up, including hiring leaders, launching departments, creating service standards, establishing operating routines, and stabilizing performance.

  • Experience supporting large construction, infrastructure, industrial, technology, energy, or remote workforce projects.
  • Experience managing department leaders across food service, facilities, housekeeping, maintenance, transportation, guest services, recreation, retail, safety, or security.
  • Experience with P&L support, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, productivity improvement, quality standards, safety programs, service metrics, and operating reviews.
  • Experience building high-performing teams and operating culture from the ground up.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 operation where responsiveness, service recovery, safety, and operational follow-through are essential.
