**To be considered for this role you will need to live in the Midwest (Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan) area.

Job Summary

As a Regional Client Manager on the Employee Benefits team, you will provide exceptional support and customer service to your assigned caseload (Employer Groups of 100 to 499 lives), through daily guidance and education of their benefit products. The products you will be working with are LOA, FMLA, STD, LTD, Life, and an assortment of voluntary and state-specific statutory products. You will need to have effective negotiation skills, independent decision-making ability, and a track record of building and maintaining long-term relationships.

Be the primary point of contact for Client Management issues for your assigned book of business.

  • Manage new case submissions, renewal activity, and amendments.

  • Identify and promote the sale of additional lines of coverage or plan improvements.

  • Participate in in-person client and broker meetings.

  • Promote new product offerings and enhanced product features.

  • Recommend plan changes as appropriate.

  • Facilitate the enrollment and re-enrollment process; conducting enrollment meetings or being present as benefit fairs, as needed.

  • Highlight the advantages of doing business with The Standard in coordination with the assigned Sales Representative.

  • In addition to servicing accounts, your ability to cultivate meaningful, effective relationships will be vital as you collaborate with internal and external customers (Sales Representatives, Brokers, Producers, Employer Groups, Policyholders, and vendors) to provide the best possible outcome for all parties involved.


Skills & Background You'll Need

  • High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years of progressive work experience in employee benefits, client management, or sales support in the employee benefits insurance industry.

  • Professional certification required: Life and Disability insurance license for resident state within assigned hub. License must be obtained within 6 months of hire date and kept current by meeting all continuing education, payment and other state DOI.

  • Travel IS Required: % based on role, assigned caseload and territory requirements.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.

The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.

Salary Range:

$66,000-111,750 base + incentive compensation plan
