With 200 offices across North America, we combine the personalized service model of a local consultant with the global resources of the world's leading professional services firm, Marsh (NYSE: MRSH).

Applicants must be within driving distance to our Alpharetta, GA office to be considered for this role and have the ability to commute to the office a minimum of three days per week.

A day in the life.

As a Business Insurance Sr. Client Manager, you will:

  • Working knowledge of Agency Management System to include navigation and delegation of tasks to team members
  • Initial rate negotiations for renewal and competitive quotes.
  • Organizes responses and presents to Client Team / Producer for review.
  • Understands when to escalate complex negotiations to Client Team / Producer for assistance
  • Actively directing/managing Client Team on strategy, client deliverables, and meeting client expectations (including proposals, stewardship, meetings, special projects etc.).
  • Proactive: In concurrence with Client Team, develops positive working client relationships.
  • Capable of communicating with various leadership levels of client organizational structure (i.e. Office Manager, Controller, Safety Director, CEO, CCO, CFO).
  • Informs Client Team of any significant changes relating to the client or the carrier.
  • In conjunction with Producer, leads Client Team in renewal strategy meetings.
  • Takes action on executing or delegating deliverables to Client Team and managing task completion.
  • Takes initiative in assisting other Sr. CM's during high volume times as needed.
  • Prepares client presentations to include developing meeting agendas.
  • Attends, and as directed by Producer, leads portions of the client meeting
  • Advanced understanding of available tools (Reference Connect, Playbook, MMA U)
  • Coordinates with the client team and Subject Matter Experts for resources where applicable (Loss Control, Communications, Claims, etc.)
  • Intermediate understanding of advanced tools (Loss Forecaster, CAT Modeling, Mod Master)
  • Provides New Business and Renewal Support based on the following tasks:
    • Participates in New Business Proposal Presentation, at the direction of the Producer
    • Participates in internal and / or external Renewal Strategy Meetings
    • Performs Renewal Exposure Analysis
    • Sends Submissions to Market or Rates Online
    • Performs Non-Admitted Carrier Due Diligence in accordance with state rules
    • Performs Premium, Rate and Coverage Comparisons
    • Negotiates with Markets
    • Generates / updates Fee Agreement
    • Finalizes Proposal and presents to client
    • Send Bind Order to Carrier
    • Receives Binder from Carrier and transmits MMA Binder to Client
    • Performs Renewal Premium Allocation
  • Provides General Service Support based on the following tasks:
    • Orders Endorsements / Coverage Changes to Carrier
    • Performs Audit Reviews and addresses discrepancies
    • Provides complex Contract Review

  • 5-7 years prior experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience Required
  • Advanced Degree (RMIN, Finance, Accounting) experience a plus
  • Advanced Designation Preferred (CIC, CRM, ARM, CPCU)
  • Manages a book of business at the direction and under guidance of the Client Team or Sales Collaboration with medium complexity and integrated specialization
  • Core Strengths: Advanced proficiency in managing a book of business through annual life cycle to include new business, customer service, renewal strategy, delegating to junior team members
  • Additional Core Strengths: Accommodation, Assertiveness, Critical Thinking, Empathy, Flexibility, Idea Orientation, Sociability, Team leadership in conjunction with Producer and / or Client Executive
  • Advanced application of prioritization & organizational skills
  • Advanced project management including delegation
  • Strong carrier relationships with field reps, marketing, and underwriting
  • Extensive knowledge of products/lines and marketing techniques.
  • Ability to convey how products are utilized and administered to clients and team members.
  • Up to date with current trends, regulations, etc.
  • Advanced application of tools & resources
  • Expert application in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint) and advanced proficiency in Excel
