Role Summary

Responsible for working with sales, engineering, and purchasing, to assemble materials lists with associated pricing, and assist in providing complete proposal / quote package set up where needed.

  • Assist engineering in determining the necessary labor costing needed to complete the job according to company and customer expectations.
  • Work with engineering and installation managers to locate and vet pricing from subcontractors as part of pre-sales quoting.
  • Able to extract and assemble material lists from specifications and drawings
  • Set up quotes for engineering review
  • Will review incoming AIA contract bids (bid Spec Work), that affect quotes including
    • Payment terms and conditions
    • Change order allowable markups after base contract sale
    • Prevailing wage adherence in pricing structure
    • Bonding requirements
    • Liquidated damages
    • Project schedules
    • Safety Requirements / Certifications
    • Daily job reporting requirements that need to be done by lead techs or project managers
    • Submittal requirements
    • Testing Requirements along with required Testing tools
    • Commissioning Requirements
    • Training Requirements
    • Warranties – work with/coordinate turnover to Managed Services Group
  • Assemble initial submittals to the client that include materials lists and associated cut sheets.
  • Once shop drawing submittals are completed by BWT Engineers, responsible for sending that submittal to client per contract
  • Assist in finding remote subcontractors and certified MBE subcontractors where required
  • Travel requirements that BWT staff will need for the project

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reviewing sales SOW
  • Responsible to correct and alert sales and engineering teams if SOW is in question
  • Perform field surveys for sales and engineering departments when required for estimating purposes
  • Assist the Installation Manager in maintaining sub-contractor relations and availability
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management

Skills & Qualifications

  • Audiovisual Installation experience preferred
  • General estimating knowledge
  • Audiovisual systems Including:
    • Experience in commercial audio systems
    • Television and display system technology
    • Familiar with control systems technology
    • Prefer basic knowledge of LED
  • General Knowledge of construction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well organized
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation
  • Valid and current driver’s license
