General Description:

We are seeking a Lateral Integration Manager to join our team. Under the leadership of the Director of Lateral Integration, the Lateral Integration Manager is responsible for promoting a best-in-class integration program for legal talent at all levels. This role organizes and manages the onboarding and integration of lateral partners, senior counsel, and associates in collaboration with section, practice group, and industry sector leaders; office leadership; sponsoring partners; and subject matter experts in the areas of marketing and business development, client intake, knowledge and innovation, finance and accounting, IT, human resources, and office operations to ensure each hire receives the support and resources needed to, effectively and efficiently, become a productive firm member. This is a dynamic position, requiring a high level of engagement and professionalism. This position reports to the Director of Lateral Integration.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports firmwide integration efforts for lateral attorneys at all levels.
  • Collaborates with leadership, laterals, and business services professionals to identify integration needs and priorities and develop tailored integration strategies to position laterals for success.
  • Prepares integration plans for lateral hires and manages those plans through successful completion.
  • Plans and oversees pre-arrival calls with internal stakeholders, including the integration team and business services professionals, and with the laterals to be integrated.
  • Convenes integration teams quarterly to discuss integration progress to date to keep the integration process on track and moving forward.
  • Plans and executes introductions and office visits for lateral hires.
  • Prepares action items for lateral partners to support their integration efforts. Anticipates next steps and follows up accordingly.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with laterals and other internal stakeholders, including section, practice group, industry sector, office, and operational leadership and business services professionals, to facilitate coordination and communication to drive desired integration outcomes.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on various practice-related metrics for lateral hires.
  • Special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to build relationships and trust with lawyers and business services professionals and to work collaboratively and effectively across functional areas to achieve integration objectives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to promote understanding and to convey information concisely.
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and to grasp big picture concepts as well as details.
  • Demonstrated business and technological acumen and problem-solving and process improvement skills to translate business needs into effective and efficient solutions.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and exercise sound judgment and initiative in recommending solutions while also working collaboratively with others in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple, detailed tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality work product under time constraints.
  • Ability to keep confidences and to interface diplomatically with others.

Required Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications & Education:

  • 7+ years of law firm recruiting, professional development, and/or marketing/business development experience preferred.
  • JD degree preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
