Business Development Manager - Air & Ocean Freight Forwarding

We are continuing to grow and are seeking experienced freight forwarding sales professionals who understand international logistics and have a proven ability to win new air and ocean freight business.


The Opportunity


This is a senior hunter sales role focused on developing new business and building a long-term book of accounts in international freight forwarding.

You will have the autonomy to identify opportunities, open doors, and close business, supported by Priority's global infrastructure, operational expertise, and strong market reputation across air and ocean freight.


What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a new business development strategy focused on international air and ocean freight.
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new customers across multiple industries.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and meetings.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and pricing strategies tailored to customer needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements.
  • Partner with operations, import, export, and customs teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Maintain accurate CRM pipeline tracking and forecasting.
  • Travel as needed for client development and relationship management.
  • Identify new market opportunities through research and industry engagement.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, candidates should bring:

  • 3+ years of freight forwarding sales experience, with a focus on international air and/or ocean freight required.
  • A proven track record of developing new business in a freight forwarding environment.
  • Strong understanding of international logistics, including import/export processes and customs fundamentals.
  • A hunter mindset with the ability to independently build and grow a book of business.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with CargoWise is an asset.
  • Existing relationships within importing/exporting or logistics industries is an advantage.

Location & Eligibility

  • Candidates must currently reside in the United States.
  • This role is open to U.S.-based professionals only, as we are not able to support relocation or visa sponsorship for this position.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is based on experience, skill set, and performance potential.

  • Base Salary: Starting at $85,000 annually, based on experience in freight forwarding sales, plus uncapped lifetime commission on accounts
