Job Description

The Banquet Concierge supports the Event Operations team in servicing the meeting planners and convention attendees.   To act as a liaison between the event manager and client during the event phase of the meeting. To be a highly visible proactive representative of the hotel who is aimed towards addressing guest needs, anticipation and resolution of potential problems.    Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management.  Reports any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations to management.
Complies with all guest service basics such as uniforms, name tags and proper guest greeting.  Knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate.  Ensures all communication containing Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations.  Impresses guests with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.

To be identifiable and accessible at all times
Introduce yourself to the Meeting planner and present meeting planner pin. Explain to Meeting planner your role. Explain how to make contact if needed during the function with the Marriott I-pod.
Be available to assist with easels, sign placements, water service, registration tables and last minute request, confirm timing and guarantees for food and beverage
To familiarize self with each group, knowing the contact, meeting agenda, and details of the meeting agenda
Check room set-up before function start time to ensure Banquet Event Order (BEO) directions are properly followed including table drapes, silverware setting, napkins and centerpieces.  Ensure  banquet staff is ready to begin on time and according to plan.
Ensure check and payment policies and procedures are followed.  Total the check (double check for accuracy) and obtain signature from guest contact.
Know the function menu and explain major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be served.
