Job description

Benefits Analyst

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for administering and analyzing employee benefits programs, with a focus on operational excellence, data accuracy, and compliance. This role supports end-to-end benefits processes, including open enrollment, leave of absence administration, billing coordination, and employee deduction audits. This position partners closely with third-party vendors, Payroll and HR to ensure accurate plan administration, resolve discrepancies, and improve processes. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience managing benefits operations in a high-volume, service-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support employee benefits operations through case management, system updates, and coordination with internal and external partners
  • Partner with the company’s third-party administrator and primary employee-facing contact, to resolve escalated or complex benefits issues
  • Monitor and manage the benefits inbox and Service tickets, ensuring timely resolution in a high-volume environment

Benefits Administration

  • Support and execute all aspects of the annual open enrollment process, including system configuration, data validation, file feeds, employee communications, and post-enrollment reconciliation
  • Validate elections, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure accurate transmission of enrollment data to carriers and vendors
  • Conduct post-open enrollment audits and resolve enrollment and deduction issues
  • Provide support for medical, dental, vision, and optional benefits enrollment, eligibility, and dependent verification
  • Process employee lifecycle events, including new hires, terminations, leaves, and status changes

Leave of Absence & ADA Administration

  • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for leave of absence processes, partnering with Absence Resources to administer employee leave events
  • Coordinate LOA activity, ensuring accurate integration with payroll, benefits eligibility, and system updates
  • Support ADA accommodation tracking and documentation in coordination with HR and legal guidance as needed
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to leave, benefits continuation, and impacts on coverage

Billing & Financial Coordination

  • Reconcile and validate vendor invoices for medical, dental, vision, and other benefit programs
  • Support client billing and internal cost allocation processes related to employee benefits
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll to ensure accurate funding of benefit plans
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and variances

Audits & Data Integrity

  • Perform regular audits of employee benefit elections, payroll deductions, and eligibility files
  • Conduct employee deduction audits to ensure alignment between elections, payroll withholding, and carrier records
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails to support compliance and reporting requirements
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in benefits administration, benefits operations, or HR analytics
  • Experience managing or supporting open enrollment end-to-end strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with leave of absence administration and third-party vendors (e.g., Absence Resources) required
  • Experience with billing reconciliation, audits, and employee deduction validation strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
