THE OPPORTUNITY:
HUB's Employee Associate Benefit Analyst professionals provide a critical role in maintaining client relationships. The Associate Benefit Analyst works collaboratively with the Producers and Account Managers to manage an assigned book of business. The Associate Benefit Analyst primarily provides medical plan marketing services, claims experience reporting, and technical support that requires a thorough understanding of employee benefits, the ability to think critically to provide strategic direction, application of advanced math and Excel skills and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative internal and external relationships.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Functions as the medical analytical subject matter expert in strategy meetings with Account Executive/Producer, including but not limited to communicating the status of marketing activity and claims utilization analysis.
  • Creates and updates claims experience reporting models and provide analysis and commentary to Client Service team members
  • Leads the Medical Market Analysis process: Develops and communicates strategy for Medical Market Analysis, analyzes Medical Market Analysis results, reports to carrier partners/vendors and negotiates with carriers throughout the RFP process.
  • Addresses carrier questions during Medical Market Analysis process and advises carriers on the client benefit strategy.
  • Market Analysis may also include dental and vision as necessary.
  • Understands and analyzes the respective markets and products in order to find the best solutions to meet client's needs.
  • Examines benefits and claims data for inclusion in Medical Market Analysis organizes carrier & vendor bids received and follows up on non-responses and late submissions.
  • Conducts claims analysis and contribution modeling.
  • Interprets census data and evaluates it for accuracy.
  • Reviews insurance bids for compliance with specifications, identifying key differences in bids, and maintaining client databases within internal systems.
  • Creates and updates internal systems and templates used during the strategy and marketing process.
  • Submits and performs peer view of reports and other analyses.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School / GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Must hold a valid Life & Health Insurance Agent license, or be able to obtain one within 120 days of employment

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
  • Computer Skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced skills in Excel; Project Management software and Database software preferred.
  • Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
  • Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to effectively work with a team and coach others in developing their skills and abilities.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Ability to ready, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities in order to complete assignments on time and with optimal accuracy.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This position primarily involves remaining in a stationary position for the majority of the workday.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with colleagues and clients both in person and on the telephone; Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

The expected salary range for this position is $30.76 - $35.89/hr depending on geographical location and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
