Job description

Job Summary
The Oncology Patient Services Coordinator serves as the key contact for referring physicians, and appropriately prioritizes and schedules patient tests. The incumbent maintains database on patient information and compiles/distributes reports. Provides clerical support and performs other job-related duties as requested.
Duties & Responsibilities
Obtains information from physician's office to properly schedule patients for tests and procedures.
Tracks patient appointments and follows up as necessary.
Maintains patient information in computer database, including status of appointment, procedures, and test results.
Serves as liaison and resource for referring physicians, hospital staff/physicians, and patients.
Provides administrative and clerical support.
Accurately completes insurance verification and works collaboratively with the health insurance providers.
Protects patients' rights to confidentiality.
Requirements
High School Diploma required, associate's degree preferred with 2 to 4 years' experience in medical office required. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and strong computer skills. Experience using Cerner, IDX, or EPIC preferred. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills required. Must be proficient in the English language.
