Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education – High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Experience – One (1) year of relevant work experience in the same or related setting is preferred.

Licenses & Certification –Current C.L.E.E.T certified peace officers, must obtain CLEET Armed Security Officer License within ninety days (90) of hire. All others must obtain CLEET Armed Security Officer Certification within ninety days (90) of hire. (Unarmed Security Officers will be paid less on the Security Officer pay scale while working to complete their armed license.) Basic Life Support (BLS) training shall be completed within 60 days of hire and kept current. Nonviolent Crisis InterventionTraining shall be completed within 90 days of hire and kept current. Obtain Hazwoper 1st Receiver Awareness Certification within the first year of hire.

Knowledge & Skills –

  1. Ability to confront adverse and potential hostile situations and resolve tactfully and safely.

  2. Skill and ability to make quick decisions and apply safety/security knowledge in emergency situations.

  3. Ability to digitally document incidents and maintain a filing system composed of required reporting materials.

  4. Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, MCNDH Staff, Tribal and Non-Tribal contractors, governmental agencies, vendors as well as the public, both orally and in writing.

  5. Ability to accurately document daily patrol activities and incidents as needed

  6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Abode.

JOB SUMMARY

The Muscogee Creek Nation Department of Health (MCNDH) security officers are employed to protect lives and physical property. Their main duty is to enforce the rules, regulations and procedures of the MCNDH. Security officers are to control access and prevent trespass, loss or damage to the MCNDH property. Represent the MCNDH by providing guidance to authorized visitors and other MCNDH property. Manage traffic flow and deter criminial activity on the MCNDH property.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in an office environment when documenting and filing reports. Primary duties are performed inside and outside of the clinical facilities and on the clinic grounds. Risk of potential exposure to hostile individuals and situations, infectious diseases, smoke, fire, outside weather, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands of the position required: continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working within small or cramped quarters. Duties may include carrying, lifting, pulling or pushing parts and equipment weighing up to and at times beyond 50 pounds. Physical restraint of individuals may be required in the performance of duties. Physical ability and conditioning sufficient to handle an encounter that turns physically violent.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:

  1. Inspect all areas of the clinical facility for safety and fire hazards. Document findings and notify administrator on a regular basis.

  2. Respond to all emergency situations in order to de-escalate and resolve any incident that could potentially harm patients, staff and visitors of the facility. Call outside assistance as needed.

  3. Respond and participate in emergency situations and/or internal, external disasters, bomb threats, active shooter threats, potential infant security issues/abductions, sever weather conditions, etc.

  4. Respond to all fire alarms and contain fires when possible. Assist in moving patients or controlling crowds as required.

  5. Monitor parking practices of employees and visitors to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.

  6. Escort visitors, patients and employees to vehicles as requested.

  7. Assist individuals having vehicular problems and assist as appropriate.

  8. Monitor and promote compliance with policies and procedures such as solicitation, smoking and visiting hours.

  9. Conduct investigation of all items reported lost or stolen in order to aid employees and patients in recovering articles.

  10. Regular attendance is required.

  11. Performs other duties as assigined.

  12. Perform daily rounding’s and complete the daily logs/reporting.

  13. Conduct training sessions regarding safety for staff members as requested.

  14. Complete Incident Reports as needed
