Work assignments may be required in other departments to ensure year-round work schedules for all staff members that want that, seasonal leave requests may be approved on a year by year basis at the unit discretion. What You'll Do As a Kitchen Cleaner for Michigan Dining you will maintain a clean kitchen by removing trash, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning equipment, filtering fryers, cleaning hood vents and drains, and washing dishes, pots, pans. Assist and work with other kitchen cleaners and staff performing general cleaning of kitchen areas and maintain a clean work environment following HACCP standards and health codes. Required Qualifications*
  • Proficiency in English and ability to interpret instructions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends & holidays.
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble, and operate kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to understand and implement OSEH and HACCP physical and food safety standards and use resources responsibly, and recognize and minimize waste.
  • Maintain a static position for extended periods of time.
  • Routinely move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Modes of Work Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work Schedule Michigan Dining is hiring for multiple openings across the Residential department. Schedules vary based upon location, with opening, mid-shift, and closing hours available. Per the CBA, schedules will consist of five consecutive 8 hour shifts, with 2 consecutive days off.
