About The Role

Reporting to the Supervisor, Cleaning, the Cleaner performs cleaning and housekeeping duties. The Cleaner will ensure that all spaces are clean, safe, and presentable, contributing to a comfortable environment for staff, visitors, and participants. The Cleaner will also perform specialized cleanings, inventory management, floor stripping and waxing as well as other relevant tasks as assigned by management.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Wash and clean walls, doors, and furnishings, including interior and exterior windowpanes, partitions, windowsills, blinds, elevators, and picture frames.

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, offices, and participant areas, and common areas.

  • Clean refrigerators, freezers, countertops, sinks, and related surfaces.

  • Perform specialized cleaning tasks requiring specific training (e.g. White room, Hep-C, etc).

  • Empty trash and dispose of waste in accordance with procedures.

  • Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer.

  • Unclog sinks and toilets using approved products and tools. As required by location.

  • Sweep, mop, and wash floors and staircases.

  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets as required.

  • Strip, wax, and polish floors.

  • Inspect, clean, and wash lockers, locker rooms, and related areas.

  • Remove debris and clean rooms that have been damaged or heavily soiled.

  • Perform heavy cleaning duties, including spring cleaning and maintenance-related cleaning.

  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and consumables.

  • Participate in training and orientation of new staff members.

  • Handle, carry, and properly use cleaning equipment, tools, and materials.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and cleanliness of assigned work areas.

  • Report irregularities, defects, hazards, or maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor and take corrective action when appropriate.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • High School Diploma completed.

  • 3 years of related experience.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Available to work weekends as needed.

  • Available to work at our Montreal site (1200 Beaumont).

  • Available to travel to our Laval site as needed.

  • Basic knowledge of English to be able to understand certain key documents written in English.

  • Advanced knowledge of French.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment.

  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and cleaning products.

  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

  • Organizational skills and autonomy.

  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality.
