About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on VP of Finance to lead and elevate the financial function at SellCord. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for driving financial strategy, establishing scalable processes, and providing the operational support our growing business needs. You will oversee a team that includes the Controller, bookkeepers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable bringing clarity, accountability, and structure to our entire finance function.
This is a high-ownership role for a builder who thrives in dynamic environments. We are looking for a leader who will take full ownership, implement processes from the ground up, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of annual budgets, rolling forecasts and integrated financial models covering revenue, profitability, cash flow and balance-sheet requirements.
  • Prepare lender-ready financial reporting, management presentations, projections and data-room materials for debt and potential equity financing.
  • Partner with the CEO and Chief Strategy Officer on capital strategy, including bank facilities, revolving credit, term debt, private credit and acquisition financing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banks, lenders and financing partners, and oversee covenant compliance and lender reporting after financing closes.
  • Analyze profitability by client, service line, geography and channel to guide pricing, resource allocation and investment decisions.
  • Build scenario models and return analyses for executive hiring, New York expansion, China growth, acquisitions and other significant investments.
  • Support acquisition evaluation, financial diligence, transaction modeling, financing and post-closing integration.
  • Establish board-quality monthly reporting, including KPIs, budget-to-actual results, cash forecasts, risks and recommended actions.
  • Prepare the company for audits, quality-of-earnings reviews, institutional investment and a potential future transaction.
  • Own the company's financial strategy, reporting, and planning, serving as the primary financial advisor to the CEO.
  • Take full ownership of the billing function, identify gaps, build and enforce a proactive billing process, and ensure revenue is captured accurately and on time.
  • Oversee and optimize the QuickBooks and HubSpot integration to ensure clean data flow between sales and finance systems.
  • Lead cash flow management, forecasting, and monitoring to support business planning and operational decisions.
  • Support corporate structure planning in partnership with the CEO and external advisors.
  • Establish and enforce financial controls, workflows, and best practices across the organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align financial processes with business operations and growth objectives.

Skills and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to build financial processes from scratch and create accountability in environments with existing gaps.
  • Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks; experience with HubSpot or CRM-to-accounting integrations is highly preferred.
  • Experience preparing executive, board, lender or investor reporting.
  • Experience securing or managing bank debt, private credit or other corporate financing.
  • Experience in a growing services business with recurring revenue, project economics and distributed international operations.
  • Strong financial-modeling and FP&A capabilities, including integrated projections and scenario analysis.
  • Proven expertise in cash flow management, financial planning, and strategic financial reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills; comfortable managing a distributed finance team.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, you identify issues before they escalate and follow through to resolution.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, financial diligence or transaction integration.
