Role Overview
The IT Director, Claims Solutions, is responsible for owning and delivering all technology solutions supporting the Claims organization. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership across claims technology, integrations, vendor platforms including AI solutions for Claims ensuring reliable, scalable, and compliant technology delivery aligned with business outcomes while partnering closely with Claims Operations, Compliance, Finance, and external vendors.
This is a hands-on player-coach role focused on delivery excellence, engineering rigor, and building internal capability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership
  • Define and execute the Claims IT delivery strategy aligned with enterprise IT and Claims business objectives
  • Serve as the primary technology partner to Claims leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and manage IT delivery team consisting of business analysts, developers, testers (employees and consultants) and vendors
  • Establish delivery governance, resource planning, and financial oversight for claims IT initiatives

Claims Systems Ownership
  • Own end-to-end delivery of Claims Solutions including integrations to internal and external platforms
  • Translate product requirements into technical delivery plans
  • Lead solution design and implementation
  • Ensure system stability, performance, security, data quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Drive roadmap planning, enhancements, upgrades, and vendor coordination

Delivery & Execution
  • Oversee project and program delivery using Agile and hybrid methodologies
  • Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of enhancements, regulatory changes, and strategic initiatives
  • Manage system integrations across enterprise platforms and TPA systems
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics

Business Partnership
  • Translate Claims operational needs into technical solutions
  • Support specialty insurance lines (e.g., E&S, Property, Professional Liability or other specialty products)
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to support regulatory, audit, and data privacy requirements
  • Enable AI based solutions, automation and straight-through processing where appropriate

Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Manage vendor relationships with external partners for integrations, SI partners, and hosting providers
  • Negotiate contracts, manage service levels, and control delivery costs
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data, and Infrastructure teams

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • 10+years of progressive IT experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience delivering Claims IT systems within the US P&C insurance industry
  • Strong hands-on or delivery leadership experience with:
  • Claims management systems (Experience in Claims Assure will be great!)
  • Third party vendors such as Legal X, Exam works, Verisk, LexisNexis, Penley, FIS, Kubra, etc
  • Proven ability to lead complex system integrations and large-scale initiatives
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance claims lifecycle and regulatory requirements
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Experience delivering solutions using internal staff and external partners.

Salary range specific to for this role : $140,000 - $190,000 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, and qualifications. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
