Position Overview:

DB Insurance is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented 3rd Party Claims Adjuster/Examiner especially with claims involving bodily injury and litigation, to join our team. In this role, you will handle claims involving third-party liability, specifically in commercial trucking and business policies, working to resolve them efficiently while ensuring fair settlements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in investigating, evaluating, and negotiating claims, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve third-party claims including bodily injury, property damage, and liability claims including ones in litigation for commercial trucking and business policies
  • Gather and review all relevant documentation including statements, police reports, medical reports, and legal documents
  • Handle claims in-house and oversee claims managed by TPA (Third-Party Administrator)
  • Conduct interviews with claimants, witnesses, and other involved parties
  • Determine coverage, injury evaluation, liability, and the appropriate settlement amount, ensuring claims are processed in accordance with policy terms and regulatory guidelines
  • Communicate with claimants, attorneys, and other third parties to resolve claims promptly and fairly
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining claim statuses, investigation results, and settlement recommendations
  • Negotiate settlements in line with company policies and best practices
  • Maintain accurate and detailed claim records in the claims management system
  • Stay updated on state laws, industry trends, and changes in insurance regulations
  • Collaborate with legal teams and other departments when necessary
  • Attend mediations or trials as needed
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a 3rd Party Claims Adjuster, with experience handling bodily injury and property damage claims
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and third-party liability claims processes
  • Excellent negotiation, investigation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex claims clearly
  • Ability to manage a high volume of claims and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency MS Office/Google Workspace applications
  • Familiarity with state-specific insurance regulations and legal processes
  • Experience in handling complex or high-value claims
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Experience working with attorneys, mediators, or in a litigation environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
