What is a claims adjuster?

Claims adjusters are professionals who investigate insurance claims to determine the extent of the insuring company's liability. They review policies, inspect damages, interview claimants and witnesses, and consult with experts to evaluate the validity and value of a claim. Adjusters play a key role in ensuring that claims are settled fairly and efficiently, either by approving payment or denying claims based on their findings. They work for insurance companies, third-party administrators, or as independent contractors.

What are some common challenges faced by Certified Legal Assistants when supporting multiple attorneys, and how can they manage competing priorities effectively?

CLAs often work with several attorneys simultaneously, each with their own caseloads and deadlines. Balancing tasks such as drafting legal documents, managing case files, and coordinating schedules can be demanding, especially when priorities conflict. Effective time management, clear communication, and proactive organization are key strategies to ensure all responsibilities are handled efficiently. Utilizing case management software and regularly checking in with supervising attorneys can also help CLAs stay on top of shifting priorities and maintain high-quality support.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Certified Legal Assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Certified Legal Assistant (CLA), you need a strong grasp of legal terminology, research, and documentation, typically supported by a paralegal studies degree and CLA certification. Familiarity with legal research databases like Westlaw or LexisNexis, case management software, and office productivity tools is essential. Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly make a CLA stand out. These skills ensure efficient legal support, help prevent errors, and enable seamless collaboration within legal teams.

Even with more than 8,500 people, 130 U.S. locations, and a global reach, we promise to know you and help you.

CLA is dedicated to building a culture that invites different beliefs and perspectives to the table, so we can truly know and help our clients, communities, and each other.

CLA is currently seeking an experienced Consulting Director - Acumatica to join our growing CLA Digital Team. This role is for an individual to join our growing team to help scope, discover, design, build, train and test Acumatica Implementations for clients of the firm. The ideal candidate will bring passion and enthusiasm to the team as we work with a variety of new and existing Acumatica clients to build solutions to support their business needs. Both technical and functional accounting and software knowledge are important for the successful candidate.

Role Summary

You're an experienced Acumatica consultant who loves solving real business problems, partnering with clients, and continuously leveling up your craft. We're looking for someone with at least six years of handson Acumatica product experience, ideally in manufacturing (or construction as a strong alternative), who can independently lead projects while thriving as part of a collaborative, people‑first team.

This role blends functional expertise, technical capability, and operational + accounting understanding. But above all, we care about personality fit, humility, curiosity, and a genuine desire to work as a team.

What You'll Do
  • Lead implementations of Acumatica across manufacturing or construction clients, from discovery through go‑live
  • Design solutions that align with client workflows, industry best practices, and Acumatica capabilities
  • Support and troubleshoot complex functional and technical issues across modules
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specs, technical tasks, and configuration plans
  • Collaborate with internal consultants, developers, and project managers to deliver high‑quality outcomes
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
  • Stay current with Acumatica releases, new features, and industry trends
  • Build strong, trust‑based relationships with clients through communication, empathy, and reliability
What You Bring
  • 6+ years of handson Acumatica experience across implementation, support, and solution design
  • Strong background in manufacturing (preferred) or construction (acceptable)
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member
  • Experience across both functional and technical areas, including:
    • Accounting workflows
    • Operational processes
    • System configuration
    • Light customization or development understanding
  • Acumatica badges/certifications (or a willingness to earn and maintain them)
  • A mindset of continuous learning, curiosity, and adaptability
  • Excellent communication skills and a personality that values teamwork, humility, and shared success
Why You'll Love Working With Us
  • A culture built on collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement
  • Freedom to work autonomously while being supported by a strong, experienced team
  • Opportunities to grow into leadership, architecture, or specialized industry roles
  • A people‑first environment where personality, integrity, and teamwork matter as much as skill
What you will need
  • 6 years of experience developing and implementing business software technology solutions is required - 8 years is preferred
  • Overall experience must also include 3 years of supervisory or project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field required (combination of education, experience, and training may be considered a degree equivalent)
Nice to Have
  • Experience with manufacturing workflows such as MRP, production orders, BOM/routing
